Re: What Helped You Make It Through Folfox Cycles 6-8

Set an alarm on your phone maybe?

I've never felt sick, at all, during chemo. Fatigue was what got me. Not much can be done for that than being horizontal as much as possible.

Hope you get through with minimal ill effects!

Re: Guess who was told she's NED??

Thanks yall. :D Have a CT next week then see my oncologist 10/1 to determine when I'm finishing my last 5 rounds of chemo. I'm feeling wonderful, but reoccurrence is always lurking in the back of my mind. I mean, I realize a huge percentage of stage 4 folks have it come back, but there's also those ...

Guess who was told she's NED??

Me!!

Saw my surgeon today for my follow up. He declared me NED  Said my pathology report showed the tumor in my liver was almost totally dead. Very few active cancer cells.

Oh hot damn, being cancer free is my jam!!

Re: Screw Cancer, Hospice is Here

I'm going to pour a glass of something strong and drink it for you.

You sound at peace with everything, not like a gallon of milk with a rapidly approaching expiration date.

I wish you and your family all the best.

Re: Upcoming Surgery

My primary was in my sigmoid and I had it removed laparoscopically. I was pregnant at the time, so nothing for pain but regular tylenol.

I did really well as far as recovery, was up the same day walking the halls.

Good luck!!

Re: Liver has been chopped!!

It's been 17 days since resection. I feel really good, which makes me do too much, which results in me being sore. Not bad enough to take any tylenol but enough to notice and be uncomfortable. Overall, it's really manageable. Another XC race today, another first place award for our runner. She ran a...

Re: Cancer households should not have to deal with lice

I cleaned... and baked cookies. There's some law somewhere that says it's impossible to be pissy when cookies are involved. We all had a crummy day here. Part of it has to be that it's almost mid September and it's still 95F outside with no relief in the forecast. The heat is going to be encro...

Re: Cancer households should not have to deal with lice

I'd be tempted to burn everything to the ground. I'm pretty pissy for some unknown reason and I'm about to go angry clean under my couch.

I can at least be thankful I'm not dealing with bugs. I'm so sorry that you are!

1. Holy shit, that sucks.
2. I'm so glad you pushed for a scan and caught it.
3. Really hoping they find a way to kick this in the ass.

Re: Liver has been chopped!!

So. I'm a week and a half post op. Off of all pain meds. Went to XC meet this morning, walked about 2 miles. Freshman daughter (baby #4) ran her very first high school 5k and placed 2nd overall for all 1-4A schools. She got a medal and her picture in the paper!!! She's 14 and ran a 25:45, first plac...

Re: Liver has been chopped!!

You know what else was chopped?????

My hair. Had my husband use his clippers and off it went. It was time. I had lost so much and it refuses to stop. So now if it's going to fall out, it will be stubble.

Bald is beautiful.

Re: Itchy Skin

Do you still have your hair? That must suck balls to have your head itch all the time. Let's just call it dandruff and get some head and shoulders. I'm kidding, I'm sure it's not funny to you. As an aside, you've stopped all treatment? Did the doctors give you an expiration date? Other than th...

Re: Liver has been chopped!!

Hows it going now? Splendidly. I'm strong enough to yell for the dogs when they went chasing something off in the woods this morning. Pushing the oxy back to every 6 hours instead of 4. Getting out of bed is way easier. I have a badass scar. I'm totally showing this thing off. I'm a survivor and th...
