Re: New Member Having Surgery on Friday

Hey! I had a different bowel resection than you're going to get, but it was laparoscopic. I was also pregnant and had nothing but tylenol for pain relief. For me, I was up walking a few hours after recovery. It really wasn't too awful. I did have some vomiting that was unpleasant but overall I'd cal...

Re: Problems with port

I'm feeling very good, actually. Sorry to hear about the fatigue. It bites, especially when you have kids. Hope it keeps getting better. Is this round 7 of 12 or ...? More than half way would definitely warrant a celebration. You're 5 rounds ahead of me; my 2nd is Monday as well. I think I get to g...

Re: Chemo has caught up to me yall

Look at me, up with the birds..... we're not talking about how I went to bed at 2100. Speaking of birds, I just bought a lovebird and he should be here Monday. I figured they live 10-15 years, some up to 20. It's my goal to outlive my bird. It's probably not the smartest thing I've don...

God. What a pain in the ass. Or arm. Or port.

How are you feeling? I've got round 7 coming up next Monday. Fatigue hit me like a ton of bricks recently, but I'm feeling so much better. It helps to know there is an end in sight!

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

They blamed my heavy bleeding on hemorrhoids being upset by the Avastin.

Stupid drugs, but hey, they're working so I'll deal with the bullshit!

Re: Quick intro -- diagnosed Friday

Take a deep breath my dude. Sounds like you might have just caught it early. And even if not, it's not a death sentence automatically. I myself was diagnosed two weeks after I found out I was pregnant. Went through a bowel resection at 11 weeks gestation and carried my baby to term before starting a...

Re: Chemo has caught up to me yall

So I am feeling much better today. Nicholas is up every morning around 0500, so apparently I'm an early riser now. Took him for his 4 month appointment today, he's over 16 lbs, no wonder I can't hold his fat self after disconnect! His pediatrician is well aware of my diagnosis and aske...

Whew.

Thanks for the insight, glad to know this is normal and I'm not just a big wuss.

I've felt much more human yesterday and today is starting off pretty well so I have high hopes. But I wouldn't be opposed to an afternoon nap!

Chemo has caught up to me yall

Holy crap. I'm so tired it's beyond stupid. Normally, the 2 days after disconnect I'm tired but bounce back 100% come day three. Round 5 didn't cooperate that well and 6 isn't much better. All I want to do is be in bed. Unfortunately, that's not really an option with our household. CT on Wednesday, ...

I can't tolerate anything from the refrigerator, I couldn't imagine something from the freezer. My mouth would fall off.

Re: Newbie trying to get up to speed...

Hi ‘Newbie’ When we meet the surgeon after hubby’s emergency surgery due to blockage - I asked “when will we know if it is benign or not?” He said “it is cancer.. “ I was awake, no meds during my colonoscopy and when we saw my tumor (which was almost completely obstructing my sigmoid) I asked my do...

Re: Newbie trying to get up to speed...

Hi! The only thing I can help you with is the laparoscopy on your sigmoid. I had mine done while I was 11 weeks pregnant with baby #8. I had no pain relief other than tylenol after, and was up walking the halls a few hours after recovery. Chew gum, that helps wake up your bowels. I was pretty uncomf...
