You have the the right place for answers and support. My husband at age 40 was dx in Oct 05 with Stage IV. He had surgery, chemo and a liver resection with abalation in July 06. So far so good. It did take a lot out of him going through all of it, and me. I had to be the one that kept him going. I w...

Remember, that with all the new drugs and surgery out there to bring you to NED, this is a chronic condition. I don't mea...

Hi Scott; Wow, reding your story just proves that you must be as proactive as you need to be. In Oct 2006, my husband Bob, age 40, was dx with Stage IV, with mets to the liver. He could not start chemo till Dec 06 (had another surgery after the resection), anyway, we went for a 2nd opinion down to B...

Hi & welcome to the colon club; By all means you must mention all of this to your MD. Some of it may be related to the procedure, but some of it may just be that you are now more aware of everything in that part of your body. The results of the pathology is going to be the key. When you get the ...

Dearest Mali; I am so sorry to read of your loss. There are really no words I can think of that would make your Mum's passing less painful. My heart goes out to you, your son and your Dad right now. From you notes I can tell that she was a strong and wondeful woman, just as you are. Please stay conn...

Hi Mali: So sorry to read about your Mom. I am sure that she knows what an amazing daughter she has. I haven't been on much these last few weeks, my work has been absolutely crazy, but my new staff are now trained and things should get better for me. all clear

Thanks for your encouragement Missy. Bob's colonoscopy was all clear. I had read that the cancer can come back at the anastomosis site and all the pictures were clear. The gastro doc said he did not need another one for 3 years, but that seems too long to me. I'll ask his oncologist what she wants t...

Bob's 1st post tx colonoscopy

Tomorrow Bob goes for his 1st post tx colonoscopy. I am so scared. Today we saw the original surgeon because he had found a small hard nodule at the base of the first incision. He thinks it is a internal suture and to be sure we will have it out. Anyway, I will let you know what happens tomorrow

Anyway, scroll back through this site and look for my post to Mali on March 05. There is a vaccine called Tro...

Can you believe this!

Hello to my friends: Bob had his 2nd visit with his oncologist, good news, all looks good. Lab tests were good, liver tests were just about normal. I am a little concerned that his CEA went from 4.3 to 4.6, but his oncologist says she is happy with the labs and is still going to hold off on any chem...

Hi Andrea; So glad to hear the "6 months to live" is gone! Keep the attitude that you are going to be around a lot longer. Don't know about these "Sirts" but wonder if it could be directly injected. Bob continues to be NED, but I will always be looking at all new treatments should that "crap" shows ...
