Thank you. I was not really looking for treatments for Sepsis; my bacteremia goes away after the first two doses of antibiotics. I was looking for more of an insight into what could be causing it.

Recurring Sepsis- needs help

Hi all, I am having recurrent bacteremia/sepsis for the past two years. I had an HAI pump placed and roux en y hepaticojejunostomy done in 2019. The sepsis incidents started in 2020. At first my doctors thought it was due to intra hepatic bile duct dilation and placed a drain in me. After a few unev...

Transverse colon colostomy irrigation

Hi
I have a transverse colon colostomy and wanted to try the irrigation option. Most of the times my stool is well formed and I empty 2-3 times day. All the online forums say it's not possible to irrigate transverse colon. I was wondering if anybody here has any experience with it.
Thank you

Thank you. His theory of maintenance chemo didn't work for me. I am trying to get a different opinion. Also last I heard, he is on a sabbatical.

Re: Stage 4 - liver mets disappeared

Sorry to hear they are back, Rgp. Are they the "same" mets; that is, in the same place? I am wondering whether treating the whole liver with the HAI pump might be more effective in the long term. Certainly something to look into. I was told it's the same mets in the same location. I am wo...

Re: Stage 4 - liver mets disappeared

So my liver mets showed up again; after almost an year of hiding. I talked to two liver surgeons so far. Dr Fishbein with Georgetown and Dr Jin He with Hopkins. Both are saying the Mets are resectable. I am not sure who to go with. If any of you ever had an experience with either of these doctors, p...

Re: Stage 4 - liver mets disappeared

I’ve been thinking along the same lines, if Keytruda fails me I may ask the Onc, if the cancer is going to take me away anyway, why suffer in the chemo. The again, I may chicken out and do it but be pissed off the whole time, and sick. I wouldn't call it chicken out. It's the fight. I know it's har...

I guess this would suggest that as a complete responder, you may benefit from it?

Thanks. Yeah this looks like I may benefit from it.

Re: Stage 4 - liver mets disappeared

Late to the thread. I had liver resection after 4 rounds of Folfox plus Vectibix and all that was found after the liver resection was a very small necrotic mass 4mm x 4mm. The surgical notes stated that they could not rule out a complete response to the chemo. This was at Mayo Rochester. They did w...

Re: Stage 4 - liver mets disappeared

I think it's institutional preference too. In the DC area, Georgetown is big on maintenance while Hopkins says no to it. And then there is MSK with the pump. I really wish that all these fellas had a talk between them and share there knowledge, thoughts and experiences. Its hardly happening now. Eve...

Re: Stage 4 - liver mets disappeared

Wow, it must be very difficult, hearing two very different opinions like that. I am wondering why Dr. Saltz at MSK had not recommended the HAI pump. MSK doesn't do the pump if there is no evidence of disease. By the time I met with Dr Saltz, my liver mets had disappeared from Chemo. I had clean liv...

Re: Stage 4 - liver mets disappeared

Hi all I am looking for some thoughts/insights/experiences with maintenance chemo. My oncologist from DC area put me on maintenance chemo since I couldn't get a liver resection as my mets disappeared after neoadjuvent chemo. He said it's a no standard treatment and there is no evidence supporting it...
