Stage 4 cured

Can scarcely believe it but after just over 10 years, I have been discharged. Will continue to have routine colonoscopies but no more scanaxiety- which never got any better, even towards the end. I wanted to post one last time to give hope that sometimes things do work out, even with liver and lung ...

Re: Anxiety attack. Stage 4 survivor stories needed

I had FOLFOX (but no Erbitux) and was no stranger to anxiety attacks....The night time was always the worst. But I am still here, nearly eight and a half years later, to show that modern medicine and surgery techniques are a wonderful thing.Am now sleeping through the night (took a long while!)and ha...

Re: stage 4 NED again

Congrats to you too Diane -fantastic news ! I completely agree that I consider myself NED, not in remission. Your lung thingy tale sounds similar to what happened to me except mine did start to grow. I mention this not to freak you but to say that my docs said there's loads of things that pop up on ...

stage 4 NED again

Just thought I'd post to show us stage 4 NEDers do exist. Had most recent scan result today and I remain in the clear :) I have to say it genuinely doesn't get any easier going for the scans -I feel sick with dread every time -but I know how very important it is to know that all the pain and sufferi...

Re: Exciting Plans

Enjoy yourself with whatever you cho...

Re: Pregnant with Stage III

I am sorry you are having to deal with such devastating news at a time which should be full of excitement and happiness. I am in the UK and by chance, I was listening to the radio when a woman was being interviewed about being pregnant whilst diagnosed with colon cancer. She sounded a Colon Clubber ...

Re: Any Stage IVs with one liver and one lung met?

I had 3 liver mets and one lung met -still currently doing good :D It is normal for them to stop the Folfox some time before your liver op as it affects the liver and makes the surgery more risky. Mine was stopped a month before and then started again about 3 weeks post op. Best of luck with your tr...

I don't check in so often anymore but that is not to say that I am not thinking of you. I hope this current treatment gets rid of the nasty beasties for good this time and you are once more pedalling away at full strength.

Re: afraid

I do not know about peritoneal disease, but I do understand how you are feeling about being NED so long and then the damn thing coming back again. It is incredibly upsetting when you start to believe you are out of the woods and then find you're being dragged back in.However, the positive is that the...
