3 yrs post surgery and still have bad gas after most meals

So it's been 3 years since my colon resection and I still haven't figured out what foods my body can tolerate. One day I think I have it narrowed down a bit- No lettuce, green bell peppers, broccoli, onions, ice cream- but I feel like most days no matter what I eat...I end up with prolonged gas in m...

Re: When to get port out?

I had my port removed within weeks of my last chemo round but I am also a Stage 2 low risk person. I could not wait to get it out so I did not hestitate. At Stage 3 I may have hesitated a bit though. Especially since my port hurt so bad when they put it in. I swear it felt like some had shot me in t...

Re: Hair is growing back - but it's the wrong colour.

I didn't have a color change but my hair came back quite a bit wavier than the previously stick straight stuff. It's also (after 2 years) much weaker and I feel like it breaks easier no matter what I do.

Hey just embrace your new color. We should be glad we have hair at all!

Re: Monday is my 1st Day of Chemo...What should I Expect

Chemo is such a trial and error situation. It took almost 4 rounds before I found a nausea medicine that helped. So just keep that in mind. I got really discouraged early on because my dosgae was too high and my anti-nausea pills were not helping. I talked to my oncologist and they tweaked my chemo ...

Re: For Stage III's: NED for how long now?

I'm not Stage 3, but my best friend's Mom was diagnosed Stage 3 in 2002 and has been clear ever since her treatment ended that year.

Re: Post Chemo Fatigue Question

Honestly, I believe it took a good 3 or 4 months until I had all my energy back. I remember feeling sluggish and tiring more easily for quite some time after finishing my last round of chemo. You won't realize how tired you actually were until months go by. It's really rough on the body so it just t...

Re: stage 2 Colon Caner age 44

Coming from a fellow stage 2'er, who also reconsidered chemo, I say do the chemo. My ultimate decision came from wanting to know that I did everything I possibly could to keep myself alive. I did the Folfox chemo regimen. Chemo is rough, but I dont regret it one bit.

Re: Concerned (Early 20's)

Your post caught my eye because I was also young, in my twenties with no cancer history..(and no broken bones or tooth pulled either haha) and I began having symptoms. Diarrhea, constipation, sensitive stomach, and spotty blood here and there. I ignored it for a while because I thought there was no ...

Re: Lung Spot that turns out to be nothing?-GOOD NEWS

My lung spot did not show up on this scan! So thankful. Everything was clear and my bloodwork looked great! Praise the lord. Now I can rest my worries for a while. Thank you to all who said prayers for me and sent me messages. Like one of the other posts said, "Sometimes thingies do turn out to...

Re: Lung Spot that turns out to be nothing?

Thank you all so much! Just reading your words have made me feel better and more optimistic. Glad to know it is more common than I thought. Hopefully mine will turn out to be nothing as well.

Lung Spot that turns out to be nothing?

Hi, After being diagnosed Stage 2 and having a resection back in early 2008, I went through the Folfox chemo regime and have been fine ever since they removed the tumor. No spread at all from what I know. Every CT Scan I have ever had ( 5 prior) has been clear. My sixth scan last week showed a tiny ...

Hi iceis, Just wanted to drop a note to let you know you are not alone. When i read your post I almost felt like I was reading my first post on here. I was diagnosed at 29 at Stage II, which was over 2 yrs ago now. I know it is scary and I just wanted you to know that one of the best moves you've ma...

Re: Odds a Mass in Colon not Cancer? Worried about my Dad.

I haven't checked this in quite a while but just wanted to update everyone. The mass was benign thankfully. They removed the mass surgically along with about a foot of his colon. It took him a while to recover from the surgery due to his age I imagine, but he is doing great now. Thank you to everyon...
