Re: New here. Bleeding from bum

Hi Everyone, I had my colonoscopy yesterday, and I am happy to report they found nothing but internal hemorrhoids. Imagine my surprise because I felt for sure that I had at least polyps and if not polyps, than diverticulous. My GI doctor said none of it. An endoscopy was also performed which he said...

Will they still do my colonoscopy?

So for this past month , I have had this dry cough. It actually goes away when I lay down. Anyway, no one knows what is causing it. It's not from a cold or an any other infection. It just didn't occur to me until tonight. My colonoscopy is tomorrow.

Re: Colonoscopy prep question

Thank you so much for answering. Hugs right back to you. The thing is, my GI is so busy that they most likely won't answer their phones on a Monday and by the time I can get into contact with them it will already be late afternoon, well past the time I should have started my colon prep. So long as m...

Colonoscopy prep question

Can I choose which tye of colon prep to use? My doctor has me using prescription prep and I didn't realize it until now. I like the miralax and gatorade prep. Do GI doctors care which one you use? I will make sure my bowels are empty. I would call and ask them but they are closed on the weekend and ...

Anyone ever have tiny black balls or specs in their stool?

Hello,

Has anyone here ever had very tiny black balls or specs (or whatever you want to call them) in their otherwise normal looking stool occasionally before they were diagnosed? I had it for years off and on and never thought any of it, until all my symptoms started.

Re: General question about CT scan

No problem Sunflower. It was initially quite bright red blood but only small traces visible. Over a month or so it progressed to include darker blood visible on stools. I would be cautious making any predictions based on visual symptoms however (or indeed any self-diagnosis), im not sure if you can...

Re: General question about CT scan

My husband's rectal cancer was detected during his ER visit CT scan. Although cancer was not mentioned on the report, a suspicion was noted. The wording was something like this. "wall thickening, tissue density in the rectal area. Colonoscopy or rectal endoscopy is suggested given the concern ...

General question about CT scan

Posted here about a week ago and I have one more question: A quick recap: Rectal bleeding intermittently since June. Pain in very left lower abdomen. almost upper pelvic that hasn't gone away, when the bleeding started. Colonoscopy is scheduled for November 6th or 13th. Very far away. Living in cons...

If you need to go to the emergency room, please go to a different ER. I'm so sorry they dismissed you like that.

Re: New here. Bleeding from bum

I can’t answer the question about the soreness, but I do think they will allow you to use a different bowel prep. I had a colonoscopy yesterday (clear!) and I used Suprep. I got so nauseated and ended up vomiting it back up after the second dose. When I told the nurse this she said to talk to the d...
