Re: I'm 10 years out!

I’m back checking in after a long absence. I have been NED for colon cancer for 10 years now (same as Green Lake Girl...congrats, sister). I had a surprise brush with lung cancer earlier this year that was caught during a routine follow up for the colon cancer. I had surgery, no other treatment requ...

Re: Neuropathy

I also recommend the pain doc or clinic. The pain clinic attached to our area hospital reserves one day a week for cancer patients...otherwise, the wait would be very long. The doc I saw said there is a program of treatment they use, trying one thing after another, until they find one that works. Ev...

Re: Just a vent and a warning for anyone looking to buy a bidet.

Hi Green Lake Girl - ir's so good to hear from you. We just bought a second BioBidet - the new model number is BB2000, and it's working really well (we put the one we bought 4 years ago in the guest bathroom). This new one has an improved remote function that should work for your mother. I don't kno...

A General Cure for Cancer?

As usual, this promising approach still needs to be tested in humans and will require at least another 4 years in development. CRGuy, some of this work is being done at UBC...do you have any inside info? "The hunt for a vaccine against malaria in pregnant women has provided an unexpected side b...

Re: How to stop hating chemo day???

About the only time I slept soundly was during chemo - those drugs just knocked me out. So a small plus.

Re: Still dealing with asthma flare up

I experienced those symptoms dealing with a blood clot (confirmation by CT scan). Another friend had similar symptoms - plus serious fatigue -from severe anaemia, and required a couple of transfusions.. I'm not mentioning this to scare you - just to make sure that your doc ruled out these possibilit...

Re: Update on me

I'm taking the maximum dose of symbicort. It does help me a lot when I'm not in a bad flare. I'm allowed to take up to 8 puffs a day. They call it the SMART protocol. They only do it in Canada and the UK as far as I know. I also take reactine, singulair, avamys nasal spray, ventolin and saline in m...
