Re: Advice about resection and reconnection

I will just add another anecdote for your consideration—my mom’s tumor was fairly low and she had a temporary bag and dealing with the bag was the worst part of it all for her. Re: Terrified of rising trend (another CEA post)

Thank you Gina <3 I did a search on here for Roche and found a bunch of posts about people seeing a rise/above normal number when switching to Roche. I am praying that’s all this is. My mom doesn’t seem concerned in the slightest now that she knows the methodology/scale were different. I’m still kin...

Terrified of rising trend (another CEA post)

Hi guys. My mom just got her results from her 3 month CEA and it’s 3.4. We’ve gone from 2.4 to 3.0 to 3.4 in the last three tests—I am really nervous about this. It seems to be a rising trend and it’s now over the upper limit of normal. The nurse told my mom on the phone that the doctor labeled it “...

I know the feeling—any rise always makes me nervous but you’d be surprised how many times people’s CEAs rise only to fall the next time, for a totally benign reason.

Hang in there.

Re: So Scared

I’m sorry your dad got bad news—I can totally relate to the rollercoaster feeling of being a caretaker and being terrified of setback after being on the journey and getting this far and hoping it’s all in the past for someone you love so much. Stay strong for your dad and you can get through this pa...
