Re: FOLFOX

I think everyone reacts differently to it so it’s hard to know what to expect. Besides thinning hair and some exhaustion toward the end, my mom’s 8 rounds were really nothing too noteworthy in her words.

Re: Mop up chemo - Port vs non-port for Oxi?

Not sure if you’ve already made your decision yet but my mom was very leery of getting the port and the surgery itself and it ended up being no big deal and she’s now very happy she had it for her chemo as she heard horror stories of how hard it is on the veins. But that being said, she is also supe...

Re: Need some help with CT results (What is ill defined soft tissue attenuation?)

I wish I could shed some light on what that means, but hopefully it is nothing—I will be praying for you and your wife that you get good news. I remember how much you helped me in the early days with my mom.

The chemo nurses at the infusion center would ask my mom if she wanted coffee and then, do you want another cup?

Thought of more questions re: postoperative CEA

So my mom had surgery on March 21 and her first CEA draw was about a month later on April 23. It was 2.1. Is this likely “the baseline” or could it still be going down after surgery? If it is baseline, is that concerning? I see so many of you with numbers 1 or less. Second question—her next CEA draw...

She was so helpful to me in figuring out issues with my mom during the early days after surgery. I am so sad to see this and she will be in my prayers.

Re: My hair is falling out.

My mom’s hair started thinning after round 6 of Folfox and continued after she was done so she bit the bullet and got a wig and it’s fabulous.
