I was tested when they found my cancer and I was NEG to HPV...
They also tested me for all sexually transmitted diseases and I was NEG...
so I never took it any further...

I guess y'all didn't read my post correctly... I of course would not be paralyzed from having the colostomy surgery... the surgery that COULD paralyze me would be from have the surgery to remove the area of cancer that grew into my bone on my sacrum.... that cancer tumor pushed against my sciatica f...

My oncologist told me that I would have to go onto a colostomy bag if I had my original tumor removed... They also told me that if I had the tumor that SPREAD removed I could end up paralyzed because area where the tumor is located is EXTREMELY close to my sciatica nerve... I DO NOT THINK that it is...

Laxmom... I followed Farrah's treatments.. etc ... closely because I have the exact same cancer... She did not OPT to not have the cancer removed... because of radiation her ORIGINAL oncologists told her that the radiation burns in the area where he cancer was... had changed the way her skin and ana...

On June 9th 2009 I was scheduled for a series of CT scans as my 6 month follow up for anal squamous cell carcinoma... The Drs read the CT scans and found some unusual findings... I had my first PET scan before I started treatments. They used the scan as part of the mapping along with a series of 3 CT scans... I had my first radiation and chemo treatments within 4-5 hours after the PET... I was dxed on Aug 10, 2007 and have had 3 PET scans since my first one...

My husband and I have a "sort of joke"... everytime I forget something we say "chemo brain".... seriously, before I had chemo (5FU and Mitomycin) I remembered everything.. my husband used to joke that my brain was his traveling rolodex... I remembered everyone's telephone numbers...

Bunny... I realize you have no colon... but when this happened to me it was because of blockage and it almost killed me... please talk to your doctors about this!!

My colo-rectal surgeon is a female... but her partner is OMG hot... when he came into my hospital room when my DR was off and he was on call... I almost fell out of my bed... and the nurses were all making excuses to come in and check on me for some reason or another... AHAHAHAH!!!

Congrats Trish on your anniversary... my last chemo was the first week of Nov...

Sorry about your friend... when I was in the hospital with complications..
the father of a dear friend was in the hospital fighting lung cancer.
He has since passed away and that was extremely hard for me...
