Re: My hair is falling out.

I'm a guy as well - my hair definitely thinned quite a bit. I ended shaving my head, didn't look the best, but better than being patchy. The good thing I can report. After I finished chemo and it started coming back, it came thicker than ever! My previous balding shrank substantially. My family typi...

Re: Reversals Any positives?

JulieJ, you somewhat answered this, but are these going to be lifetime issues, or do things generally get close to normal over time? Cancer's taken so much already, the thought of also losing some of my favorite foods is a bit depressing.

Re: Severe back pain

I'm currently going through the same thing. For background, I suffered a ruptured disc 3 years ago and had surgery for it - so I'm acutely aware of anything back related. Last week, after taking my son to the zoo, my lower back go progressively more sore throughout the day, to the point where I had ...

Re: Ladies what did you do with your hair during chemo?

I'm not a woman, so my answer isn't the most productive, but I buzzed my hair to the chagrin of my wife. I didn't lose my hair completely, but it thinned out quite a bit, and have the short hair made it less noticeable. Surprisingly, as it has grown back, it's come in much darker than originally. Ch...

Re: What Week Of Chemo/Radiation Do The Symptoms Start Getting Worse?

I want to echo this post as I've had a substantially similar situation. So far, I've experienced the same side effects - some irritation, fatigue/fuzziness, and like clockwork, they came on halfway through week 3. I hope my experience continues to mirror yours!

Re: 5FU infusions

I can echo what many of the other posters said. I just finished 8 rounds of FOLFOX. I would typically get fluids and the Oxalplatin over about 4-5 hours. Then I got a 5-FU bollus infusion. After that, they hooked my port up to the the take home pump. I got a new pump halfway through - it was quieter...

Re: PET Scan results?

I was a similar situation this week. Due to some suspicious pelvic lymph nodes, the radioation oncologogist ordered a pet scan to determine if they need to broaden the scope of radiation. Because I was just diagnosed, I meet with all 3 doctors consecutively immediately after the PET scan (surgeon, h...

Re: Worried Wife-Please Help Me

Hello, I am kind of in a similar boat - just diagnosed this week (i'll put a front page post up shortly, definitely have some questions, sad to join, happy the community looks so inviting) - I was dieting and exercising all year, and losing weight. But an amount that I was expecting and at a normal ...
