Re: Folfiri and Nausea

I did FOLFIRINOX (FOLFOX + Irenotecan) and was horribly sick for the first couple of rounds until I started taking EMend. It's a 3 day pill pack you start the day of chemo and continue for 2 more days. After that I no longer vomitted. All told I think I was on 2-3 anti-nauseants, so you can be on mo...

Quick update. I met with my oncologist this week who confirmed that the 2 liver spots are small cysts. I am so relieved!!

Re: Just DX. looking for info.

The chemo I had for Stage 3 (FOLFOX + Irenotecan) completely wiped out my white blood cells. I needed neulasta shots after each chemo session just to get my counts back up to a level where the next round of chemo could go ahead as planned. If you are reluctant to cancel your cruise I would be reques...

Re: 2 spots on liver, 7 months after chemo success

Thanks everyone for replying and giving me some hope that there are other plausible explanations. It will help make these next couple of weeks without answers a little less scary

2 spots on liver, 7 months after chemo success

I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and can maybe talk me down from assuming the worst. I had a tumor successfully removed via resection of sigmoid colon in May 2018. Clear margins. One of 28 removed lymph nodes had traces of cancer cells do I underwent 6 months of FOLFIRINOX (FOLFO...

Re: Prep suggestions?

I just had a colonoscopy last week (blessedly normal!) and used Pico Salax. I found it to be as effective (perhaps better) as the BiPeg Lyte I used last year. I will be using Pico Salax going forward. You only drink 2 sachets of the solution in 150 mls of water (with Bi-peg Lyte I had to drink 2 lit...

Persistent fatigue and brain fog, 5 months post chemo

I finished 6 months of chemo (FOLFIRINOX - FOLFOX plus Irinotecan) in January. My neuropathy is improving to the point where I don't mind it as much, but I really struggle still with fatigue and brain fog. I'm working out many days a week to boost energy levels and stamina, and doing brain games to ...

Re: Neuropathy improvement: individual experience

I had my last FOLFIRINOX infusion Jan 2nd and definitely noticed and increase in the severity of neuropathy for the following few weeks, including the electric pulses down my legs when I moved my head forward (called l'hermittes sign, I think?). I've noticed the pulses stopped about a month ago (3 m...

Re: Folfirinox - Bad tolerance

I just finished 12 rounds of FOLFIRINOX last month - it's definitely a tough regime. For nausea and diarrhea I found the first 4 rounds to be the worst, with it evening out by round 8. For nausea I was taking Emend, Ondansetron, and Prochlorazine which helped a lot. Neulasta sucks, I had such bad mu...

Re: How did you first discover or got diagnosed with colorectal cancer ?

I had very infrequent bleeding over the course of 12-18 months, maybe for a couple days at a time, then nothing for months. I did suffer from bloating about a year before diagnosis, but it has cleared up completely when I switched to a ketogenic diet. My GP felt it was nothing, especially with no fa...

Re: Folfox v. Folfiri?

Folfiri contains 5FU too, it just swaps Oxaliplatin for Irinotecan. Hope this treatment does its job for you!

Re: Strange new side effects with FOLFIRINOX

My oncologist decided to scale back the Oxaliplatin to see if we could get rid of the strange zaps I'm getting in my feet. Thanks for the Vaseline tip - think I'll give it a try for my nose to see if it helps

Strange new side effects with FOLFIRINOX

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced these side effects - I'm 8 rounds (of 12) through FOLFIRINOX and these are new to me. 1. I'm getting strange "pulses" through my ankles and feet, almost like little electrical zaps or currents. It started once a day, about a week ago, now I get ...
