Good news & update

Hi! I posted on here for a little bit during treatment for Stage 3 Colon Cancer. If you were to check my history, you'd see that I did six months of Folfox, only to find out that I had suspected metastasis in the lungs, for which I received radiation therapy. At one point my first doctor told me I'd...

Re: FOLFOX failed

Thanks again... no one's given me anything to look forward to so nice to hear some success stories here :)
I am in KCMO, unfortunately KU Med and Shawnee Mission Hospital (part of MD Anderson) are out of Network, partially because of the MO/KS thing...!

Re: FOLFOX failed

re: supplements, I don't think any of them could cure me, but many of them allowed me to tolerate chemo very well... b12, probiotics, mushroom compounds... I did great and recovered quickly from surgery! Too bad chemo was a waste of my time lol.

Re: FOLFOX failed

Thanks for the input. How does getting a second opinion at a major cancer center work when you are out of network? I'm willing to travel; I've paid for all my treatment myself and my family's offered to help with money. Really, I'm not so upset... I'm not in pain. Mostly just kinda sick to death of ...

FOLFOX failed

So my doctors are deciding the best course of action while they restage my cancer. They think its stage IV: a PET scan showed activity in my lungs & in my NECK... this Wednesday I have a neck biopsy... two words every 33 yo wants to hear weeks before Christmas. They're advocating for radiosurger...

Re: lung nodules

Well, my lung nodules grew. I'm emotionally prepared to deal with it if it is cancer but i can't rule out an infection: I'm hypothyroid, I do my own home repair, I live in the Midwest and blah blah blah. That's just for context though. When my last oncologist saw my scans he read them in front of me...

Re: Radiation induced menopause

Topping this thread after an unhelpful meeting with a gynecologist today, who said I'd stumped her and had to go ask someone else. My radiation oncologist didn't mention anything about stenosis and I've been avoiding reading much online until now (2 months after chemo, 1 day before reversal surgery)...

Re: lung nodules

Thank you guys. It's hard when you have a positive mindset to have your confidence shaken; I've read so much about mind/body connections that doubt & fear seem like the first stages of metastasis, it's hard to be scared without feeling extra bad for being scared....! I don't want to mention this...

lung nodules

Hi! I thought I just posted this but I guess not. :/ I'm 32 y/o female recently completed 6 months of FOLFOX, after a LAR 11/2017 for Stage 3 rectal cancer. I had chemoradiation last August as well. My surgery went well with 1/16 lymph nodes involved and I have reversal scheduled for July 31. I was ...
