Re: A nightmare X 2?

Hi Punky44, I feel you. I don't have an anxiety disorder and yet suffered from severe panic attacks for about a month and a half when my mum was first diagnosed, and started being more aware of my own body, so any small ache became a big thing in my head. Worth getting checked, but not worth panicki...

KRAS G12V - anyone with good news?

We just got our genetic testing results and my mum is KRAS G12V mutant. I have been looking online and on this forum but have decided to stop for the sake of my mental health: I don't have a great grasp of scientific papers, and what I read is grim. Anyone with a bit of good news or perspective on t...

Re: Pre-dx Burning Mouth Syndrome / Taste Change

It seems like outs might be an isolated occurrence or possibly a coincidence!

Have not tried yoghurt/kefir for mouth sores - will give it a try if/when they come back.

Thank you for your help. Stay strong!

Pre-dx Burning Mouth Syndrome / Taste Change

Hello all, Hope you are keeping well. Just wondering something. About a year and a few months prior to diagnosis my mum started having what was diagnosed as Burning Mouth Syndrome - painful sores in her mouth which took a lot of hard work to subside. She underwent some taste changes, too - everythin...

Re: Scared that my father is stage IV colon w/liver metastasis

Thank you so much for sharing your story. Because the doctors don’t explain many thing (as they are right on their perspective) it is very relieving to hear that CEA won’t be the end of it. Just a question as I am really new to this disease, is it normal to elevate this much in such a short time? O...

Re: Scared that my father is stage IV colon w/liver metastasis

I'm sorry that you're both here - I'm in a similar situation and all I can say is from my experience CEA are bound to go down if the treatment works successfully. My mum's CEA at the start of chemo was in the 6000+. Now down to 400 after seven cycles. From what I've read about very elevated CEA leve...

Re: Scanxiety Part 1000

We finally got to read our results - the oncologist seems very happy - there was a reduction of 3 cm to the main lesion, and the lesion in the left lobe is now 5 cm, though he says a lot of the tissue are dead cancer cells, so this is good news for us. However, new lesions have appeared in three seg...

Re: Scanxiety Part 1000

Sorry to get back to you just now. Stu, I really hope you managed to get your scan read from the hospital? That alone must be pretty frustrating kOn top of what you're going through!) Martd, your story is most incredible and I wish you many many years of prosperity and hope we can aspire to a story ...

Re: Scanxiety Part 1000

stu, how was your mum's scan on Tuesday? I kept my fingers crossed for you, for it to be all nice and clear again. Thank you for such a sweet message. Despite all the pain you and your family had to go through, it made me feel hopeful. Your mum's an absolute soldier. CEA still heading down (now 600)...

Re: Scanxiety Part 1000

Ahh, I know what you mean! We had our pre-last-chemo-treatment scan on Wednesday day and will receive the results tomorrow. Scanxiety is awful but I've found keeping busy helps, especially if you can hang out with friends/family. The worst of the anxiety hits me when I'm alone and my brain has the ...
