You can get a pulse oximeter on Amazon.com. I have found them to be accurate for me.

Re: Good news

I hope we can proceed with life but we were informed that my husband is very likely Lynch positive so we don't really know. In my research on such I found that he is much more susceptible to brain, skin and liver and lung Ca. Only time will tell, but we take each day as it comes together.

Re: 19 mm sessile polyp found in 88 year old

Just because a doctor recommended something it doesn't mean you have to follow it.Unless your Dad is an extremely spry 88 year old putting him through all that does not feel right to me.I know I would not want my dad to be recovering from a surgery such as that at 88. You know your dad best. Talk wi...

Good news

We had a visit with the oncologist yesterday. My husband's stage 2 colon cancer will not require any chemo. He has no risk factors. It's blood work, scans and colonoscopies. Colonoscopies can be no more than 3 years apart, Dr. prefers it be closer to two years.

Re: Stage 2- no follow up care???

Saw the surgeon today. Again he used the words" you are considered cured". I said as I understood it stage 2 colon cancer can be kind of iffy. We brought up an appointment with an oncologist. He said he felt it wasn't necessary because my husband did not need any follow up, however I said ...

Re: Pizza

My husband had Right hemicolectomy last Tuesday. Surgeon said pizza was fine. Just don't eat highfiber foods, raw veggies or things like popcorn and nuts until he sees the surgeon on the 19th of June.

Re: Questionable submucosal cecal mass

My husband just had a right hemicolectomy last week for what we initially thought was stage 1. He was in the hospital for 3 days and is recovering well. Expected to return to work on the 20th. There has not been any change in his stool or anything else of concern. When pathology came back after surg...

Re: I need some help guys

I think a colonoscopy is about as invasive as you can get, barring surgery. I also think a colonoscopy would give you great peace of mind. They give you great drugs so you might not even be awake. If it takes a benzodiazepine for you to get there I think it's well worth it.

Stage 2- no follow up care???

My husband's pathology is back. Stage 2 with no node involvement. Surgeon said they are confident they got it all. Husband will need no further care except for yearly colonoscopy for a few years. Is this right? Should I feel confident with this? Next appointment is in one week so I want to be sure.

Re: New cancer diagnosis. Ugh!!

New info: This is not from the surgical biopsy but the CT scan am I right to be concerned? The ct scan said there was an indeterminate spot on the liver that measured 4 mm. It could only be seen and measured on the axial view. The surgeon did not mention this and said he was hopeful the biopsy at su...
