Re: Radiation induced menopause

I was 34 when I had radio and was sent to a menopause clinic. The OBGYN immediately prescribed HRT (a combo oestrogen/progesterone one) and when I asked about risks of taking it he said that at a younger age the risks are much lower and the benefits far outweigh the risks. No more risk than the cont...

Re: Hello from a new member

I know it's stage 3 but didn't get a letter after that. Based on the breakdown over at http://www.cancer.net I think it has to be Stage 3B. The pathology report says it's pT3 pN1c pMX (they found nothing on a chest CT scan afterwards and the liver biopsy looked clean, so there's no evidence of mets...

Re: Adverse reaction to capecitabine?

My mom finished her first round of Xelox regime last Wednesday. On the last three or so days of the pills she really had a hard time eating or drinking anything. Then on Sunday she was having abdominal pains that were severe enough for the on-call oncologist to tell her to go to urgent care. Urgent...

Re: Reversal

That was fast. I was looking at the timestamps and you must be way ahead of us. I hope things go really well. I'm impressed that you posted the same day after your surgery. If you want more details from my reversal (I'm 6 weeks out) then PM me. You seem to like more info and perspectives than less.

Re: Reversal

Only two nights in the hospital? I do hope that you share details of the hospital stay when you back and have time as that's me in four months. It sounds like you represent the part of the curve that had a fast recovery. Just for another perspective Mike. I ended up having a longer surgery where th...

Re: Reversal

It looks like they are ready to send me home, things are going through the system, but I am still very careful with what I eat. The pain from the stomy site is very little. Claudia Good luck at home. I was expecting one thing and ended up with the opposite so it's certainly challenging to manage! I...

Re: Feeling really sad and in need of support

I think you expressed what many of us are truly thinking in those alone moments when it’s just us and the cancer. I just finished round 5 or FulFox. Round 2 and 3 were very tough. They started me on Neulasta and took me off all BP meds ( heart rate dropped!) round 4 and 5 were not bad. As far as th...

Re: Homeopathic Remedies for Fragmented Stools

What has helped me is pelvic physical therapy. My pelvic physical therapist taught me a massage technique that helps gather the stool for one large movement at a time of my choosing, as well as various exercises to help me gain control of my bowels. I highly recommend pelvic physical therapy for an...
