Re: CEA increasing trend

I've been told by folks in my support group that the lab does matter, although I've got no evidence to back that up. My last scan also showed some thickening at my surgery site, and that was two years after radiation. I assumed it was scar tissue and paid it no attention. I may be misinformed but my...

Re: She’s gone...

I'm so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I'm new to the community but I've read some of your story and you did so much to help her. I'm thinking of you and sending good wishes for you and your family.

Re: Introduction/News

Hey there. For starters, I'm sending hope, prayers and good energy your way for whatever comes. My something similar is a diagnosis at 44 with a wife and two kids. I was otherwise as healthy as I'd ever been. The shock still hasn't worn off. I can't speak to the stage 4 aspect, other than to say I'v...

Re: CEA increasing trend

I am not sure why the Cologaurd test is not used in these situations. Cologuard is used for general colon screening. You send in your poop and it measures the DNA to say if there is cancer in your system. For high risk people, its not a good way to screen, as once cancer is detected its not good. M...

Re: Just found out I have cancer

Just an update here. I don't check in too often anymore - trying to live my life. I finished 9 rounds of chemo (switched to FOLFOXIRI), and I have HIPEC in two weeks. Excited to get on with it! Also terrified that there will be some non-resectable disease, but we find out soon! There's no shame in ...

Re: I Have a Life Again! Updated for those who are interested

Thank you, Susan. It's so good to connect with others who are having a similar experience. Luckily I had an ileostomy during chemo. My blockage was at my stoma but was caused by the abscess. What a ride that was...I'm so glad that experience is behind us both and that we're here to share it. Judy, e...

Re: I Have a Life Again! Updated for those who are interested

Hey y'all, I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. I got here by googling "enema lars" and I've been so inspired by what I've read. I've been doing daily enemas since 11/16, so I'm probably just past the 500 mark. I learned how to do this without the amazing support of this group a...
