5 year scan

As a way to bring hope to even just one fellow survivor, I am stopping in to share that I had my 5 year scan today, and it is clear!
I know I gained so much from these milestone posts when I would see them.
Love to all,

Woo hoo!
Congrats and thanks for posting this good and hopeful news. I am waiting on my 5 year scan results today.
I too have mixed feelings about being discharged. Are you going to still do yearly CEA/CBC ?

Re: Recently diagnosed

Glad you are pursuing a further check- up due to CEA rise, as it is better safe than sorry- but CEA can be fickle for some. Mine has bounced around throughout my 5 years since diagnosis. Drives me crazy. You should start to get a good idea what your baseline is after treatment and side effects are d...

yearly colonoscopy- pre cancerous polyp 2 yrs in a row

Hi All, I am on a yearly colonoscopy plan because when I went 3 years in between, they found a large 10mm pre cancerous polyp. That was last year, so I just had my colonoscopy 2 days ago, and AGAIN they found a 10 mm pre cancerous polyp, but this time it grew only a years time. Has any one else had ...

Re: Rectal bleeding 7 years out

I have rectal bleeding occasionally but am thoroughly checked out with colonoscopies yearly and it seems to always be hemorroids, often made worse after more vigorous, lengthy walks.
Always good to get it checked out!

Re: CEA again

I think you're like me, CEA is not a good indicator of anything. I met with my oncologist yesterday and she pretty much told me that. Yours is around 3.4. When you had full blown T3 it was 6.1. Check what might be causing inflammation in your life, you event went to 4.6 in 2020 and nothing happened...

Re: CEA again

Mine bounces around, (as you can see in my signature), but I have so far not have not had a recurrence. Hoping all is well for your sister. Ksue Hi Ksue, Thanks for your reply. I checked your signature and I saw that your CEA also bounces a lot. I am wondering if your lab uses a 3 scale (<3 is norm...

Re: surveillance schedule for stage 3

This month marks 10 years post 3C CRC diagnosis for me. NED and back to normal for many years now. After 3 years without recurrence surveillance dropped way off - they started to suggest I was likely cured at that point. After that I think I had a CT scan (pelvis and torso) one more time at the 4 y...
