Re: CEA is a yo-yo

All the CEA results I see in your signature fall within what is considered the normal range. I would not be concerned with it until it starts climbing above 5 or more. It doesn't appear to be a good marker for your cancer. These measurements are causing you undue stress for no good reason. Have a f...

Re: CEA is a yo-yo

...There is a lot of information about CEA tests on this forum. I believe its been summarized a couple of times. Good Luck GrouseMan Yes, that's true ... many, many posts on CEA since 2005: ⋅  ... Here are the threads about CEA I was able to find where I wrote something in the past. These...

Re: CEA is a yo-yo

Uuuggghhh I haaaate CEA. When John was in the hospital his CEA was 12 and the Onc told him that it was possible his blockage wasn't cancer as inflammation can cause high CEA and that wasn't a drastically high number. We weren't that lucky of course, and he has stayed in normal ranges until recently...

Re: CEA is a yo-yo

Another hater of CEA! My mom’s last one was her highest yet...until I learned that because we went to a different lab they used a different scale and so it was an apples/oranges kind of thing. Anxious for her next one next month at her normal lab. Could that be the case with you? I don’t believe th...

Re: CEA is a yo-yo

I know you’ve posted about your CEA before. It is quite normal for CEA results to bounce up and down. I never had two CEA results the same. Maybe you shouldn’t have them as often due to the anxiety that they cause you. The fact that it was higher two results ago, than it is now, is a good sign. Bou...

Re: liver and CEA results-ultrasound ordered

I read a study last week, that stated that covid patients can have CEA elevations, so perhaps the inflammation response from the shot doing it’s job could be having a similar effect. I have had some little rises in CEA, one recently in fact...they always really get me stressed, but have always led t...

CEA is a yo-yo

Hey all, Just stopped by to say hello, and also to share that my CEA is 4.2 It was 3.5 last time and 4.5 before that  I know that’s not near as high as some people’s numbers, but it is upsetting each time it goes up. I have accepted that I may just be in the high normal range, but like it much...

Re: COVID Vaccine and CEA Increase?

CEA LEVELS ARE MY NEMESIS!
Sorry you are having this stress, and worry. I may have missed it- but did you find any more out?
I’m at a lab getting my CEA checked this very minute.
Sending love

Re: 30 and scared

Hi there, Sorry for your stress. Getting checked is the right thing to do. As to your questions about the blood- Everyone is different, but here is my experience: Blood on toilet paper was the first thing I noticed. Then I started to see it along the sides of the stool. Never enough to color the wat...

Re: Covid 19 vaccine

Hi Stu, For sure it's an individual decision. If you do get vaccine both doses have to be from same company. They actually give you a card I think so when you go back they give you right one. It's important to remember these only have emergency authorization meaning they don't have a lot of info so...

Re: Colostomy and Gas Pains

For those with Colostomies, not iloeostomies, do you get recurrent once a week gas pains that are painful and just discomforting? I think what happens to me if I don't go for the whole day, the same day i get whirring noises in my stomach and I know its gas, because I feel like it farts or releases...
