Re: Anyone with a local recurrence?

So I have a pretty long and complicated history with colon cancer (will update my signature shortly), but basically 7 years after my primary diagnosis, colitis was seen in a follow-up CT scan. I did not have any symptoms or discomfort. I went for PET scan, which showed nothing. I was due for my rou...

Re: Anyone with a local recurrence?

My rectal tumor had a complete response after chemoradiation/trial drug/FOLFOX as confirmed by two biopsies a month a part. However, they spotted something on my mri which may be tumor deposits in the pelvis. I am terrified and will be biopsied this Monday. I’m praying what they see is inflammation...

Re: Anyone with a local recurrence?

... I was just not finding much info... Have you looked into the procedure called "Complete Mesocolic Excision"? I think this might be something like the "complete primary resection" that Rock_Robster was referring to. In any event, I don't think you would have much to worry abo...

Thank you Rock Lobster
I was just not finding much info, and because I have symptoms that are concerning me, I want to have some idea of what I’m looking at.

Anyone with a local recurrence?

Any experience with cancer returning to the colon?
At the anastomosis site or other spots in colon?
You just don’t hear of it as much as liver, lung, etc.
Wondering what all is involved treatment wise.

A CT with contrast is a good imaging protocol and should be a good screening for your issues.

Cheers

Thanks for the response, CRguy. I will be glad when I know what is going on.

Re: rectal pressure, blood on stool, cea

Hey all, UPDATE I called my doc and he wants me to have a CT becuase of he rectal bleeding. I got the call from the nurse right at closing time so I was not able to ask too many questions. I was not aware that a standard CT would detect anything in a colon. Maybe it will be CT colography, although n...

Re: rectal pressure, blood on stool, cea

Hemmorhoids cause both tenesmus and bleeding. And you had a hemorrhoid. I did have tenesmus after exercise (running 4-5 Miles) with my RC, but not until the last couple *months* of an estimated 7-yr. lifespan (and it was a bulky tumor). Same story with bleeding. So I think it’s unlikely that the sy...

Thank you for the reassurance, that does help. I’ll keep your words in mind if I have to go in.

Yes, call the dr and let us know what they are going to do. Be brave if you have to go in and know its for your best health. Crazy as it sounds I was thinking when I go in I will limit my breathing by holding as long as possible between breaths, put neosporin on each nostril, wear ballcap pulled do...

I had to drink my water warm, not just room temp. Things like warmed apple cider or tea also.

Re: Recommended Supplements?

I agree with the above comments to try to see a naturopath for dosing, brands ect. I saw a naturopathic oncologist alongside my regular oncologist.
I take tumeric, broccoli sprouts, vit D, and a mushroom trio
