Re: Increasing CEA Following this thread

My son's been doing great. CT earlier this year and colonoscopy were all clear. Latest CEA up to 1.5 from 0.9. Bothersome to me, not too much to him. His onco is following him closely and ordered another CT. We'll go from there.

Re: New to this, don’t know how to “chat”

My son was Dx'd stage 3 colon cancer 12/17. Had a bowel resection and 12 rounds, of FOLFOX. How he worked every day, I don't know, but he did. One day at a time, one foot in front of the other. Some days were much better than others. Had a clear colonoscopy last fall--now on a every 3 yr plan. Now h...

Lingering fatigue and changes in stool

My son completed chemo 7/2018. He is still experiencing fatigue, going to bed 7:30-8 every night. He does have a physically active job and works often 6 days a week, long hours. (Have I answered my own question here?) Is his fatigue normal over a year out? He's 48 now. He keeps a lot to himself, but...

Re: If you want prayer stop in here!

I pray "formally" twice daily for my son and all those living every day with cancer. I'm happy to have found this thread. I will continue to stand with all of you who believe in the power or prayer.

Re: Marking time from first diagnosed or??

Thank you all for your replies. I see there is no hard and fast rule for when to start marking time! My son's oncologist told us that colon cancer tends to recur most in the first 2 years, and his CC was found on a colonoscopy Nov. 2017 which is why I was asking. Thanks be to God his chest/abdominal...

Marking time from first diagnosed or??

When can we mark time to say we have had no cancer for 2 years, 3 years, etc?

Is it from the time of the very first Diagnosis? After the first surgery? When chemo ends?

It was on Dec. 28, 2017 that my son informed me that he had colon cancer. Now, nearly a year later, after surgery and 12 rounds of chemo, he is doing very well. A year ago I was terrified. I know he is not out of the woods yet, but it is so good to see him without the chemo side effects, and with hi...

Good news

My son had a colon resection in January and completed 5 months of FOLFOX on July 30. His port was removed in October. He had a clean colonoscopy this morning--thanks be to God! The GI Dr wants a repeat in 3 years and annual Hemoccult. Oncologist has a CT scan scheduled for December along with more b...
