Re: New member here, hi! My CRC stage 2/3 story

hello cancerchola: Thanks for your experience. I'm supposed to start Xeloda this week. found out my UHC advantage plan will not cover it. Expensive, I know it may mean the difference between life and death so I will do it. I am glad to learn how you dealt with the gas. I will watch for that. I will ...

Re: New member with Xeloda question for Stage II

Hi ocgross10 welcome to Colon Talk. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Are you sure that Xeloda is causing neuropathy? That is typically related to oxaliplatin found in the FOLFOX combination. Xeloda is related to hand/foot syndrome. It's annoying to be sure, butt there are measures you can take t...

Re: HELP!!!!!!!!! PRE SURGERY QUESTIONS

Hi Eleda: I am praying for your surgery day which comes soon, and a smooth post-op. If you can, think of it as a spa time, where you are waited on, you really have no duties except follow what the hospital staff request. I am 12 days post-op from a sigmoid colectomy. Pain is not bad, I had the push-...

Re: Colonoscopy without sedation, should I?

Hello - Glad your no-sedation scope went well. I was going to tell you my experience on April 18, 2018, I was looking forward to being totally relaxed and "out". Well, in my "sleep" I felt very painful tugging inside and yelled, twice. They added to the meds to relieve my pain, t...

Surgery tomorrow (Thursday)

I'm new to the club. Last Wednesday at a routine colonscopy, they found a 3 cm mass that is adenoCA. I'm a nurse, I work in Palliative care, moving toward retirement. It is so strange to be on the other side, to be the patient now. I'm scared! I'm doing a lot of nice things for myelf including remem...
