Re: What is your typical CT scan experience?

Thanks for the responses everyone. Still nothing in the portal and this is not normal. I usually see results within two days, sometimes even same day. Just some further comments on my situation. Pagola 44 I was given oral contrast in all my scans prior to starting chemo, it has been through IV injec...

What is your typical CT scan experience?

What is your typical CT scan experience? I am six years into this journey and have had probably 24 of them, all basically the same procedure. Last Thursday was odd though. Normal two passes followed by the contrast injection. Then a very long wait before the third pass, another long wait. I’m positi...

Re: My addiction to dark chocolate - did it lead to colon cancer? What can I do to detox?

I'm taking IP6 plus Maitake daily to chelate iron and heavy metals. There are a number of videos on Youtube on the benefits of chelating iron since tumors thrive on high iron levels to grow and metastasize. Guessing IP6 would also chelate lead and cadmium also. If you are worried about it, start do...

Re: Worried about spread to my bones? (leg pain) ???

I'm from Ontario, Canada, don't know where you are, but part of my testing once the colonoscopy confirmed cancer was a full bone scan. Head to toe. It could be an option for you.

I did not have bone mets but the scan did find other interesting anomalies. Just like any CT, PET, MRI does.

Re: mCRC Stage IV mets to LV and LN - what can we do more?

No, they all work with you remotely. It stinks Belanger can't. Maybe some others can. Actually, we also didn't expect refusal. I found that many docs don't want to continue when hear about advanced stage 4. That is their right, we will look for others. In the case of Dr. Belanger I suspect it may b...

Re: mCRC Stage IV mets to LV and LN - what can we do more?

As far as I know Ontario Health Care doesn't pay for Neulasta, however I was able to receive Neupogen covered by OHIP. I had to file some forms at my cancer centre, but it was relatively easy. I haven't tried but I suspect that seeking a new oncologist under OHIP would be troublesome unless you have...

My song is Titanium.

Re: Recently diagnosed

Greetings Sky. Your pre diagnosis symptoms were similar to many of mine but I am surprised that your diagnosis and resultant surgery occurred without a colonoscopy. Just for reference can you share where you are from? Your tumour was relatively large, does your surgical report state how much of your...

Re: I got my chemo curls in 2020 *

I gave notice to my employer of 8+ years on the 9th. It has been a good job, nice people and I learned a lot about the industry while there. But it’s a 50 km trip each way and also over an hour each way even though I arrive and leave later than normal 9-5 to avoid rush hour traffic. New job is 10 mi...

Re: I got my chemo curls in 2020 *

Thanks BS for the comments. It was both husband and step-son in your family with liver mets as I recall? The drain was put in in three weeks after surgery and removed eight weeks later. Output dropped off abruptly in that last week so I am (for now) comfortable that if there is any leakage it is bei...

Re: I got my chemo curls in 2020 *

Thank you everyone for the support. I had a phone appointment with the liver surgeon last week to review December's scan which has left me feeling somewhat disappointed. Liver has recovered nicely, no sign of new stuff, but I am still struggling with the lung issue which does not seem to interest he...

Tueffel, reading your signature, the story of your dear father's cancer is difficult.
But your support for him is a very bright and warm light. I wish you and your family all the best, and thank you for sharing with us.
Much love to Papa.

And a liver resection in 2021

Fast forward from January 1, 2020…. March 2020 CEA 2.7. August 2020 - scan shows new lesions in the right lobe of the liver so an MRI was scheduled. Sept 2020 CEA 2.9 Sept 2020 MRI was not definitive other than to confirm there were new spots on the liver that had not been seen before. Oncologist te...
