Re: Accident with 5FU bottle

I'm not familiar with the bottle type of pump, so no. The only time I had a strange thing happen with my pump was once when I looked down the next day and realized that blood had backed up into the line leading to the bag. I went straight in and they detached me, figured out how much 5FU I had left,...

Re: Just need to get it out

So glad to hear that he had his seat belt ON, right?!? It's no wonder you have an emotional release. After all that the two of you have been through, the thought of losing him to a random patch of ice would just be one thing too much. I hope he isn't too sore as a result and there aren't any lingeri...

Re: Very scared - would love feedback re mucus

Sounds to me like you should make an appointment with your doctor. As anyone with access to a search engine can tell you, mucus in stool is normal, but usually not visible. There are many reasons for changes in bowel habits and many reasons for changes in visible mucus in stool. If you are really wo...

Re: Brother In Law's Total Colectomy - 40X a Day on Toilet

You didn't mention whether he has tried immodium. That's the first thing most people try, and I seem to recall that CRC patients are advised that they can exceed the recommended daily dose. The other thing I can think of is plain psyllium. It can regulate stool consistency and help both constipation...

Anyone tried Liquid Biopsy?

And if you did, was it helpful?

I'm thinking it might give me some data to help decide whether I can safely go off Keytruda. I just can't stand this ongoing pain. It is crushing me.

If you would create a signature with your husband's medical details in it it would help people respond to you.

Re: Diarrhoea only at Night

Psyllium is really quite tasteless. If it tastes like anything, it's probably wheat.

Re: Just need to vent because I’m angry

Good news! I'm glad she has worked through it this far. Hope she continues to surmount her challenges. I gather you drove the 4 hours to take her home? You are a champ! I'm sure it was particularly important for her to have your in-person support after she took this big step, but for the future you ...

Re: My hair is falling out.

So this thread inspired me and on Tuesday I not only got my hair cut, but colored to hide my pretty minor greys. It's a bob a couple inches longer than chin length. The hairdresser totally got my issue with the new growth but desire not to cut back to that length. It looks like it will take another ...

Re: Diarrhoea only at Night

Something else that helps regulate stools is psyllium. You can buy a jar of plain psyllium husk and just have it in a glass of water.

IME, take 10 sips of water, swallowing each separately, while holding your breath. Works like a charm. I haven't ever had a persistent hiccup, though.

Re: PET CT Small Nodules

Firstly, it is very common for people to have small harmless lung nodes as a result of current or prior infection or other reasons. Unless there is some other reason for concern, watch and wait is thus the usual response. Sounds like they think these nodes are probably harmless. If the largest one i...

Re: Just need to vent because I’m angry

She has had one infusion and that's it? Has she done anything to combat the nausea: drugs, adjusting premeds, fluids, saltines, whatever? I have to say that if I were her I would be much more likely to complete the chemo and refuse the radiation, based on what other women say about the effects of ra...
