Re: liver and CEA results-ultrasound ordered

So I had the ultrasound today and results already as follows: Hepatic steatosis. Otherwise unremarkable examination. Doc said it is fatty liver and supplements may have caused that result. He said there is no sign of cancer in this result. He ordered another CEA test for two months from now because ...

Re: liver and CEA results-ultrasound ordered

Ok found last liver test....the normal parameters are different so don't really understand how to compare the two. Nov. 2021 AST. 20 U/L. 10-35 ALT. 17 U/L. 6-29 Alk. 84 U/L. 37-153 Current AST. 34 UL 0-31 ALT. 39 UL 0-31 Alk. 115 UL 35-104 I understand why it's comparing apples to oranges. Any insi...

Re: liver and CEA results-ultrasound ordered

There is green tea extract in one of my many supplements. My b12 is also elevated which is a possible indicator of liver damage, says Mr. Google. I had also added vitamin b12 as directed by naturopath. I will discontinue all supplements for now.

Re: liver and CEA results-ultrasound ordered

Yes the liver numbers are higher than they were previously but those were done at a different lab...and the doc did say that it's like comparing apples with oranges. My ultrasound is scheduled for tomorrow. It's abdominal....he said they will be looking at my liver.

Re: Did you travel during treatment?

Go!!!! nothing like the adventure of travel to occupy the mind and heal the body. No, I’m not a doctor but that is my belief. If it were me, my greatest regret would be in allowing my fear to make the decision for me. I have a very strong faith in a higher power. Desire means “Of God”. So when I des...

Waiting for results is the worst. There is so much power in prayer and you will certainly be in mine. I hope you can find ways to distract yourself. Please keep us posted

Re: Colonoscopy at 25-- Scared

Try to stay busy and divert your mind. Stay away from google for sure. Treat worry, fear and anxiety like the enemy....stay far away. When anxious thoughts arise, I say STOP IT! And immediately turn my thoughts to gratitude for anything that is good in my life. I try to remember that any type of neg...

Re: Modifications to prevent/lessen chance of recurrence

I have definitely cut back on sugar but can not cut it out completely. Also have cut out alcohol, gluten and most junk food...
but have to have the occasional ice cream or dark chocolate candy.

I can’t take aspirin because of the caffeine content. Do you know if baby aspirin contains caffeine? Can you share the baby aspirin brand and dose you take?

Re: Probiotic and cream for frequent BM?

Thanks so much to everyone who offered suggestions, really appreciate it. I will try the VSL probiotic! Since I posted this I saw my surgeon because the itching and burning inside my anus got worse. He told me to increase fiber intake to lessen BM. Thankfully BM has reduced. He said it was not a fis...

Probiotic and cream for frequent BM?

Dear friends I had robotic LAR surgery on April 11. It was stage one so no radiation or chemo follow up. The frequency of my BM varies with my diet and I am experiementing with Metamucil and that has helped. Yesterday I went at least 20 times. Can anyone recommend a probiotic that may help me with t...
