Re: newly diagnosed stage 2a @ 38

Hi Erin’s,
Glad you’re feeling good from the surgery. I have had no real side effects from my surgery either. I did have plenty from the xeloda! Let us know how the scan goes. I just had my check up last week and all looked good.

CBC Levels

Hello, I want to ask for input on my latest CBC results. I finished taking Xeloda in July 2018 and have been feeling good. Went for a general physical and my CBC has some values that are rising. My GP doctor immediately sent the results to my Oncologist and that has me worried. I am scheduled to see...

Re: In the name of science- NOVA study participate

Thank you for participating in this. I can only imagine how many lives could be impacted if colonoscopy can be replaced with a blood test. Let’s hope it works!

Re: MCV blood test

Good luck with your CT scan tomorrow. You will be so relieved to have it over. Thanks for the information on the labs, it good to hear your doctor wasn’t concerned.

Re: MCV blood test

Hi Margie,
I am having a similar problem. Most of the values on my CBC including MCV were a little over normal. My doctor had me repeat the test and I am waiting for the results. I have no idea what this means, hope it nothing. Hope your doctor visit goes well :D

Re: CEA false positives?

Sorry for the CEA stress. I think looking at the list of other causes for cea may help you find the cause. Listing your pre op cea and any scans could help others respond. Let’s us know :)

Re: Stage 2- no follow up care???

I am stage 2A colon cancer as well. When making my decision about follow up I did a few things you might want to consider. 1. I asked for second review of pathology. Oncologist told me the best second opinion is a second review of pathology from major cancer center. My insurance did cover this. Ever...

Re: New member with Xeloda question for Stage II

Thanks Beckster and Margie, I went to oncologist today and told them 3500mg is too much. They are going to drop me to 3000. I was surprised how dehydrated I was. They tried to get blood work 3 times and I finally said stop. They could not find a vein. I will come back next week. I came home and dran...

Re: New member with Xeloda question for Stage II

Hi All, Wanted to ask for advice with nausea. I am finishing my third cycle of Xeloda at 3500mg per day and the nausea is 24/7. I can deal with the hand/foot and exhaustion, but the constant feeling in my throat and mouth is awful. I am basically staying in bed most of the day. I have tried ginger t...

Hi Erins. I am another 2A. Sorry about the passing of your mom. You can read from my signature we are close except I was G2. You are smart to think about your questions before your visit. With 2A they will not tell you what you should do. I consulted 3 oncologist and took the oncogene dx test before...

Re: New member with Xeloda question for Stage II

Another stage 2 trying to manage/understand dosage of Xeloda. I have posted a few times here and received great advice from the kindest people. Because stage two is a gray area we are told there is no real database for us. Leaving us to decide treatment based on the assumption you should be cured af...

Re: Looking for Stage II Updates for Colon Cancer Peeps

Thanks Beckster. I appreciate the encouragement. My surgeon and first oncologist loved the test and the second oncologist I decided on doesn’t think it matters. Surprisingly the oncologist who likes the test didn’t change his recommendation for folfox and the second oncologist was in line with the r...
