Re: Ladies what did you do with your hair during chemo?

Hello from another Teri! My hair is fine to begin with, but thinned steadily through chemo. I also had been coloring my hair for years. I decided to cut it really short and was interested to find out what color my hair really is. Turns out I’m pretty gray! I am post chemo now and my hair has pretty ...

Re: Pain following right hemicolectomy

My cecum mass and right hemicolectomy was done December 21st, 2017. I was discharged after 48 hours. But pooped the night of my surgery (it was a surprise poop). I was at stage IIIC so am undergoing chemo now. My surgery recovery was actually pretty easy, but I also stuck to a soft food diet and tri...

Re: New here, recently diagnosed, just had surgery but more to come...

My cancer journey is about 2 1/2 months ahead of yours. It’s diagnosed stage IIIC, laparoscopic surgery December 21st, port installed January 22nd, and FOLFOX started January 29th. I tried really hard to concentrate on one thing at a time. After removal of the ascending colon my focus was on healing...

I don’t have any information regarding your post, but it was nice to see another Teri with one ‘r’ so I thought I’d just say hey there.

Anaphylactic reaction on round two of FOLFOX

Two weeks ago I had my second round of FOLFOX. Within 5 minutes of leaving the infusion clinic I had an anaphylactic allergic reaction — tongue swollen, bronchial spasms, low blood pressure. I returned to the doctor’s office, where they pushed steroids and Benadryl to address the anaphylaxis. Today ...

Re: Single and dealing

Maybe you can categorize the help and ask each individual to help with one category. That way you don’t overload any one friend and each friend can become proficient at their task. In my experience allowing friends to help is a gift for the friend as much as it is to you.

Advice for first appointment with oncologist after diagnosis

Hello all. I’m new to the forum and have a question. I had a colonoscopy on December 1,2017, during which they found a 5 cm mass in the cecum. I had a right hemicolectomy on December 21, 2017. I met with the surgeon last week for the 2 week follow up and got the pathology result, which was T4aN2a wi...
