Re: Lung recurrence update- good news

Just jumping on here to say I had another clean scan! Nearly 8 years since dianosis, 7 years out from chemo, 5 years from lung recurrence/lobectomy.

I always appreciated reading success stories. There is hope to be had. Keep on keepin' on.

Re: My hair is falling out.

I was a bob gal from the start because I have such fine hair. So as soon as it started to thin I went to a pixie. It was a good move for me, I lost most of my hair! Looking back, it was really emotional, but it has grown back and I have pictures to remind me of the battle.

Re: Lung recurrence update- good news

Just a short update for those facing stage IV diagnosis and/or lung metastasis. I’m still NED after two years from my lung recurrence and 4.5 from my initial diagnosis.

Thanks to those who continue to be an inspiration in this fight.

Re: Totally in Shock Stage 2 to Stage 4 in 9 Months

I’m so sorry to hear you’re facing this diagnosis. As a stage IV survivor (mets to liver then recurrence to lungs) I wanted to tell you there are a lot of us out there, and there is a lot of hope to be had. When I was diagnosed my tumors were HUGE and the outlook was bleak, but chemo worked well and...

Re: Thinking of you AmyG

Amy, First off, congratulations! I was diagnosed with stage 4, mets to my liver, when my daughter was just weeks old. Those new born cuddles were the very best medicine! I know someone mentioned it previously, but we used breastmilk banks and I am forever grateful for them. It was a small condolence...

Re: THC RSO

Nate, So Sorry it took me a bit to respond. I used RSO to help with my side effects during chemo. It helps emensily! When I had my lung recurrence we didn’t do chemo, and I used theaputic doses both as pain management and In hopes of reading any microscopic cancer. My lobectomy put me back to NED, s...

Re: THC RSO

I took RSO before and following my most recent bout with cancer. It certainly helped with pain management. I was able to manage pain 100% with the oil. That said, I can’t really speak for how it works on fighting cancer as the surgery alone was with “curable intent”. I certainly wouldn’t rely on it ...

Re: Lung recurrence update- good news

I wanted to update this thread for anyone else facing lung metastisis. I just got my 6 month scan results back and all is clear. This puts me one year out from my lobectomy and three years out from any chemo.

Needless to say, I am feeling incredibly greatful.

Re: Lung recurrence update- good news

Hi Beccashocked, I'm new to this board - looks like I'll need a lobectomy for a central left lower lobe nodule. Which lobe did you have removed if I may ask? I've heard that lower lobe resections may have more impact on lung function than upper lobectomy because of greater oxygen transfer in lower ...

Lung recurrence update- good news

I know there are several people on this board who are actively dealing with “lung thingies” or have in the past, so I figured I’d share my experience. I had a single lung met removed via lobectomy, a piece of cake surgery in comparison with my colon/liver resection. My doctors agreed to forgo chemo ...

I don’t even eat meat, but this post made me so darn happy. Love hearing about the bits of normalcy among all of this cancer madness. As they say, life goes on.

Oh and I’ll be putting some of these tips to the test when i grill for my family tonight!

Re: PET scan not good :(. Anybody's surgeon was able to find a 8mm lung nodule via VATS?

We watched mine for nearly two years before it began to grow as it was unaffected by chemo and stable size. During that time there was no visible spread or progression. Unfortunately mine was in a more precarious spot and when it did begin to grow I had to have lobectomy to remove the little bugger....
