Ok, this makes really sense, the CAT scan mentions a thickening of the walls of both small intestine and colon.
Thanks!

Re: New on the forum

Thanks a lot Susan, I probably ate too many grapes and also a bit of celery...good to know that it is just the first two months we need to be careful. But is it because of the trauma of the operation? Because of likely scar tissue or adherences? I also drink a lot of tea, wild rose, ginger, green te...

Re: New on the forum

Hi Claudia, I hope all is well and you're home resting after this latest ordeal! I also hope that you get the results from your PET scan soon too. The stress of wondering and worrying can drive one crazy. Take care and let us know how you're doing when you're up to it. Hugs, Shana Thanks Shana! I g...

Re: New on the forum

Hi Claudia, Hopefully they sent you home today. The stoma nurse was pretty firm about the fiber, as an example I can eat butter lettuce but not spinach or romaine. She is one of the people to take the call if there is a suspected blockage so I think she errors in favor of caution. They told me ther...

Re: New on the forum

Yesterday I had pain in my belly and had to go to the hospital. Everything turned out to be normal, blood and x-ray, so it was probably a partial blockage due to adherences or too much fibers. I hope to go home today.

I am also walking a lot on ice and and snow and totally agree about how important is to have good core muscles. Especially when I walk the dog, although I let him free a soon as it is safe. Today it was really nice outside, have a quick and nice recovery from your fall!

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

You are really close to the end of the mop up chemo! I hope the next rounds are not so hard and you will be NED for ever!

If the oncologist says 6 is like 12, are you not tempted to stop now that you are over 6?

All the best

Re: Just scared

I am really sorry to read about this new reoccurrence. I am just at the beginning of this journey and I don't have enough experience to give you advice. People around me are also surprised about how well I took my diagnosis and sometimes I feel like they think I have not understood how serious is my...

Re: Surgery scheduled, clinical study for Lifeseal, questions about recovery

Of course if both options include oxalyplatin I would not exclude it, I thought the choice was between Xeloda only or Xelox. I know that mop up chemo is given to clean up residual cells that might have been released, but here they don’t think there is enough evidence that it helps after neoadjuvant ...

I wanted to ask you: when did you start doing side plank after the surgery? I know I have to wait 8 weeks for the sit ups, but side plank doesn’t put too much pressure on the stomy and surgery cut I guess?

Re: Surgery scheduled, clinical study for Lifeseal, questions about recovery

I also think it is difficult, but I would avoid oxalyplatin if given the choice. Consider that here in Norway you would not have mop up chemo at all with no lynphonodes and good resection margins, if you had chemo and radio as neoadjuvant.

Re: New on the forum

I am really wondering what is the chance that I got a new primary tumor in the lungs, when lungs are the first place for metastasis from colorectal cancer...what is the chance that the biopsy give a false negative? Wouldn’t be better to just remove it as a metastasis? I feel pissed because they did ...
