Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

When will you know the results of the last scan? I also had one on the 20th of August, light CAT to the chest and ecography to the liver. I will have a scope on the 4th of September and then get the answer. But I am not worried, if I am sick I will face it when it is real and not just a possibility....

Hi,
I agree, it really helps with pain in the neck or the back to do core training. I did not run today but walked a lot (32000 steps) with my dog. Have you tried eating wild blueberries? It can really help the intestine.

Re: Thin scope for colonoscopy?

Hi, I had a colonscopy in November and they used a thinner scope because of the multiple surgeries. I did not have any sedation or painkillers and it was quick and pain free.

Re: Rectal cancer stage IV

Hi! Just dropping to say hallo. It is one year now since last surgery to remove a lung metastasis. Everything is still fine, I will have the next control in August, but that will be an x ray and ultrasound. No CAT scan this time. So, no news, good news! Soon leaving for a long drive to Italy and 6 w...

Re: Rectal cancer stage IV

Hi again,
today I had another scope and got the results from the last CAT scan. Everything is unchanged. Next scan in 6 months. Otherwise I am fine, here it is very cold and very good skiing conditions.

All the best

Re: Is LARS a foregone conclusion? Anyone doing W&W?

Hi Claudia, Thank you for your comment and sorry for the delay in response. I see your uterus was taken too. That is my future. What was your recovery like, given multiple organs were taken? (I have never had any major surgery so I am clueless!) My midwife asked me whether they will take the ovarie...

Re: Incomplete colonoscopy - worried about surgery

I had a similar experience and had my first complete coloscopy one year after diagnosis of rectal cancer. The tumour was too large and the scope did not pass. Nevertheless, my colon was clear. I also had a bounch of MR, CAT and PET scans that would probably detect larger tumours, but the scope can h...

Re: Rectal cancer stage IV

I had to put my dog to sleep. I miss him a lot.
Otherwise things are fine, biking to work (with spikes), training strenght and running. Working full time. No anxiety, so I don’t have much to write, but I read and try to answer when I feel I can contribute.

Re: Is LARS a foregone conclusion? Anyone doing W&W?

I am Claudia, mentionwd by NHMike, I am Italian and live in Norway. I had reversal in June 2018 and don’t have problems except perhaps more frequency, but very manageable. My tumor was quite low (5 cm from anal verge) and it looked like it went through the colon, so surgery was necessary. I did not ...

Re: Rectal cancer stage IV

Yes, but I have done rectoscopy and CAT scan first every three months and then every 6 months. I guess because I am a stage IV. The thing is that colon has been clear, no polips, so reoccurrence would be in the rectum and then perhaps a rectoscopy is enough? A new polip in the colon would take some ...
