Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

I had to stop the Oxaliplatin after the 3rd round. My doctor suggested 3 out of 8 was better than none (obviously), but that the addition of Ox is only recent to the protocol and improved outcomes by 3-4% overall. so in my case, he was concerned more over the long term side effects of continuing Ox ...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

hey, teacher! i have worried about all of the same things...from all of my readings and talking to the doctor, could be several issues. one could be your resection site. takes several months for it to properly heal and chemo exacerbates this process. could be the chemo itself and the havov it wreaks...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

hang in there! my oncologist took me off the oxaliplatin. cancelled all of my remaining treatments. with 3 cycles in, he said it was enough given the toxicity and that it was not worth risking long term side effects. he then said it was really a plus for me and not necessary....so why give it to me?...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

So welcome your thoughts. the new scot trial results are beginning to roll out and though i am no oncologist, appears 3 months or 4 cycles of CAPOX is only .09 % statistically inferior to 6 months or 8 cycles. however, toxicity from 6 months as opposed to 3 months is 3x higher and potentially more d...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Does anyone have any information on potential limited range of motion issues following a sigmoid resection? i am nearly nearly 6 weeks post op and feel a stretching feeling in my left side when normally stretching in the morning or twisting my trunk area. there is no pain, just a feeling as if that ...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Went to work today. Kids were happy to see me. Staff was very very supportive. I am tired since it's the first day back from the resection. It was so normal. I loved it. I will never complain about work again. Happy to have this job. I hope I can work through chemo and win this war. Absolutely FANT...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

sometimes the steroid can cause a cough along with several other negative reactions. i agree with Lee that you need to re-engage your oncologist regarding the cough. i am managing my fifth day of chemo so far, mostly nausea and fatigue. today i felt like i was hit by a train, but it cleared about th...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Lydia, that's why you are doing the chemo, to make sure all of the straggler cells possibly left behind are destroyed. this disease is on the microscopic level. clear margins from my understanding means the surgeon did not remove any additional surrounding tissue. still, chemo is the way to go. the ...
