Re: NEW THREAD FOR LOVED ONES LEFT BEHIND ONGOING

Hi Brenda, My husband of course had feelings of anger and sorrow. He wanted to someday retire with me and go to Arizona or someplace warm. It is very hard on someone going through treatment. I see that you are KRAS. We went to Sloan Kettering because he had the BRAF and honestly can’t say enough abo...

Re: Mr Ziggy has passed away

Fumaros I agree! But it was a fast moving cancer with some unusual characteristics to it. Hard to get on top of this thing. I definitely feel it’s tragic that so many people die of cancer in 2018. I wish there was a way to keep people from getting it in the first place. A vaccine or something would ...

Re: any peeps with BRAF mutation on here?

Thank you Shana, As I reflect on the last 3 days and all the business, I’m touched at how many people loved my husband. He was a thoughtful soul going above and beyond to help those around him. We didn’t have any children, just a cat. He was an only child with his mom still here. I’ve lost an aunt a...

Re: Mr Ziggy has passed away

I wasn’t shocked but sorrowful because I’ll miss the faces he used to make. He cracked me up! His last coherent words to me a couple of days before was “ I adore you”. He was a thoughtful man who always tried to help people. The kick in the ass is his wake is on my birthday. But he has started a new...

Re: NEW THREAD FOR LOVED ONES LEFT BEHIND ONGOING

Hi everyone, Lee recommended this thread as my husband passed yesterday from this lousy disease. He’s free and with his Lord now. I’m shocked at the range of emotions I’ve experienced in 24 hours, but after 7 months trying to get ahead of this thing my beautiful, handsome husband just had to go. He’...

Re: any peeps with BRAF mutation on here?

Ikub, I wanted to send love and encouragement because I know what you’re going through. It’s a tough time for people going through treatment and it’s life changing. Not just for the person that’s sick, but the whole family. xoxo

Re: any peeps with BRAF mutation on here?

Thank you sweetheart. I know he’s in a better place and waited to get home to his wife and kitty. It was a privilege taking care of him as he deserved love and care at his end of life. He deserved only the best. Today the sun is shining and even though it is chaotic right now, these are earthly thin...

Mr Ziggy has passed away

Please add Mr Ziggy. He was my wonderful husband and friend and loved by so many people. He went home to his Lord yesterday 2/16/18 at 1:10 pm at home. He had been in the hospital but waited until he got home to pass. I will miss him so much!

Re: any peeps with BRAF mutation on here?

Dear one, I can’t imagine what you’re going through right now. I know it is so hard thinking about losing a life partner, and it must be even harder with children. My heart hurts for you but there is still hope and time if they are treating him. Your hubby sounds like a very strong man. The treatmen...

Re: any peeps with BRAF mutation on here?

MHF with everything you have going on I feel bad for you that there’s stress with scheduling. It’s required that he gets it at the day/time needed. I know we spoke to the RN assigned to Mr Ziggy and his doctor about scheduling later appointments in his case. I also got a little persistent when I got...

Re: any peeps with BRAF mutation on here?

MHF 3 hour wait between doc and treatment? Are you going in earlier? We would sometimes have labs at 7:30, then sometimes ekg or something and consult with doc then treatment. Those were usually long days. Even just labs and treatment took a few hours waiting around and such. Yeah it’s good being on...

Re: any peeps with BRAF mutation on here?

Thank you Shanna and Robin. I appreciate it. Today was a little tough butt he’s doing ok. The hospice I called couldn’t have been more lovely. My friends dad had them and said they were wonderful. I feel he will be in good hands during the day. I love him and he told me he adored me today! That made...

Re: any peeps with BRAF mutation on here?

Hi all, I don’t know what to say, but I know you’ve all been very supportive and kind to me and Mr Ziggy. I wish I had better news to report. Today Mr Ziggy is getting stents put in his ureters due to some kidney stones and disease blockage. Hopefully they can he’s still a bit weak. He has absolutel...

Re: any peeps with BRAF mutation on here?

Robin I believe you will do very well it sounds like your docs are right on you and you are enjoying life. You just transported me to a warm place very descriptive. I know it’s not easy living with cancer, and worries of unknowns, but you’re right it doesn’t define us!
