Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

You are really close to the end of the mop up chemo! I hope the next rounds are not so hard and you will be NED for ever! If the oncologist says 6 is like 12, are you not tempted to stop now that you are over 6? All the best Claudia Since there were 12/17 LNs involved- the oxi was lowered but not c...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Haven’t posted in a while and I hope you are all well. I am coming upon chemo 8. It hasn’t been easy and the onc lowered the oxi due to neuropathy. She did say that as long as I did 6 full oxis, it was the same as 12 according to recent studies. She also said all my numbers are good. That we will wa...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Ok freaking out. Four days of some bright red blood on the stool and in the bowl. Headed to the gi dr tomorrow. Scared too death. I’m in the middle of chemo. I have #6 on Friday and onc said it may have to stop for a colonoscopy. Could it be the chemo? Lack of water? Something minor?

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Happy new yr everyone! Hoping you are all ok. Just checking in. Had chemo 5 and the fatigue has been hard. Onc wants me to ge the neulasta shot today. Depression continues. I don’t hear enough stories of stage 3c survivors and I get so worried. Reading everything about diet- trying the green tea, bl...

Re: What a difference a year makes! UPDATE

Becky- All these posts give me hope! I try to not read anything negative because it doesn’t help me in any way. I’m approaching chemo 5- cold sensitivity and that great metal taste lingers but I’m pushing through. Hoping it all works! I have dreams of smashing my removed port with a mallet. They say...

Re: What a difference a year makes! UPDATE

So happy for you! I am hoping for any good news this new year! I don't think I can take another horrible year like the last. Chemo #4 done and it is not easy. I found your post uplifting and so hopeful that we all can find NED one day. Enjoy every day, Becky! You are blessed!

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Question regarding anemia. I was told that I had low iron counts this time but not enough to postpone chemo. The next one may be pushed back due to Christmas. I am wondering if it is normal? Perhaps still from the surgery? I had a bloody stool episode after this chemo and maybe I lost a lot of blood...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

hang in there! my oncologist took me off the oxaliplatin. cancelled all of my remaining treatments. with 3 cycles in, he said it was enough given the toxicity and that it was not worth risking long term side effects. he then said it was really a plus for me and not necessary....so why give it to me...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

HI all- this chemo 2 round was ok but I'm still feeling fatigued days later. Some sore stomach as well. My concern is constipation. Is it normal? I also noticed a blood episode and it had me freaked. My next chemo is Friday. Mentally draining but I'm determined to live. I'm actually considering writ...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Chemo #2 done! Disconnect is beautiful. I had to have benedryl after the oxi- numb lips and bit of tongue. Otherwise, some first bite, chemo headache and some cold sensitivity. I'm sure I'll be asleep all day tomorrow. I feel so sad during chemo and at disconnect so free. It such a roller coaster ri...

Re: For Stage III's: NED for how long now?

Hi--I had stage IIIC signet ring colon cancer with fourteen positive lymph notes. I was diagnosed in May 2008 and had my last treatment just before Thanksgiving that year, so 9 or 9.5 years, depending on how you want to count. I still remember how lousy I felt physically that Thanksgiving. Ugh. I f...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Anyone have to take something to calm down before chemo treatments? I was fine last time. But today all I do is cry. Thanksgiving was hard. Trying not to think it's my last thanksgiving memory. Just wondering if this yo-yo feeling stops.

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Made the absolute mistake of reading some reports on the cancer centers app. Though my ctscan of my chest was clear, it still notes some nodules but at .2 and .3 levels. Should I be worried??? I am alittle freaked out. But these days it happens easily and frequently.

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

I can't wait to be done with treatments. But I already fear the scans and colonoscopy that have to happen. They never saw my whole colon due to the mass in my sigmoid. Every now and then I feel a pain on my right side. I see the ports advantage but hate it all the same. I have decided to remove mys...

Re: New here. Just found out I have stage 3

Hey Hopegirl- I'm right here with you. Totally blindsided at 48 with stage 3c. 12/17 Lns and scared out of my mind. Terrible dreams and morbid thoughts. PTSD definitely. I am finished with chemo 1. It was a hard road to get here. I have learned a lot about myself. I am stronger than I seem and I'm ...
