Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Ok freaking out. Four days of some bright red blood on the stool and in the bowl. Headed to the gi dr tomorrow. Scared too death. I’m in the middle of chemo. I have #6 on Friday and onc said it may have to stop for a colonoscopy. Could it be the chemo? Lack of water? Something minor? Question on th...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Teacher2017, I work in a school district too. I was wondering if you were able to work during your FOLFOX treatments. I started my treatment in the end of June and am trying to figure out what I am going to do in the fall. Congrats on your recent test results. God bless! Nate! It wasn’t easy becaus...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Colonoscopy on Monday. I have the best miralax prep but I hate the thought of doing this again. The gi dr didn’t want me to do it for another three years until I told him the cancer went to my liver and I had a resection. Then suddenly his smile faded and all willing to do it. I think cancer is men...

Re: Totally in Shock Stage 2 to Stage 4 in 9 Months

Two years ago I never would have thought I’d be posting on here and other sites trying to give some hope. I went from 3c to 4 and was absolutely devastated. Long story short, after a successful liver resection, I have been NED for nine months! I did the 12 rounds of folfox before the resection. I ha...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

So I had the scan yesterday and of course, I checked my blood work and Cea level on the portal. Longest day ever to say the least! Cea level went from 1.1 to 1.2. My blood work looked all normal except for the ALT (liver enzyme number). It went from 25 to 30. Not sure why or if it means my liver is ...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Ok so June 1st is scan day- it’s the nine month scan and I really hope it’s clear. I’m going through the panic again but I’ve made Plans this weekend to host two bbq’s- I figure if I’m well enough to cook, I’m a ok. Still scared that these pains in my right side are something. I went to the gi dr to...

Re: Folfiri after Folfox fails

Thank you! That is so helpful. My onc at MSK tried to be hopeful today, but she is also realistic. We still don't have the genetics -- though we know I'm negative for Lynch. That there are suspicious lesions in the peritoneal cavity was what most concerning to her. How quickly did you start to see ...

Re: Stage 4 to NED- Please tell us

Ok I never thought I’d post a post of hope but...I was blind sighted when stage 3 turned to stage 4 after 12 rounds of folfox at the first three month scan. A two cent met was found on m liver. Last Sept 2018 I had a lapro live resection and have been NED since. Next scan in June. Praying too. But I...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Stu, you're about the nicest person I've run in to online. :D I've made an executive decision that after all of this is over (chemo, resection, mop up) and I'm declared cancer free... we're going to Florida to visit my father in law and his wife in their new home. We're going to make it an epic roa...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

So on Saturday it will be a year since I did my last chemo. I feel like I should do something like scream off a mountain or mourn my former self. I have not come to terms with death- I don’t care what the disgusting stats are (14% survival rate for 5 yrs). I refuse to think this is my end. I’m six m...
