Re: It has come back...in the LNs...

I had PALN mets when was diagnosed, and 2 PALN recurrences. The first were surgically removed, the second treated with radiotherapy and the third shrunk away within my first 3 months of chemo for life. They stopped showing up on scans 18 months ago, and I have had no evidence of visible disease for...

Re: Stage 4 Stable ?

Hi Alreadyhere, I just went to my consultation today, thought I can share a few points for reference. 1. A lot of patients stay stable for a long time (longer than 5 years) and is seen as equivalent to cured. 2. It's not necessary to resect the nodes if they are no longer active. The nodes sometimes...

Re: It has come back...in the LNs...

Hi rp1954, Thanks for replying. I was reading through your comments a few times. Pardon me for not having English as my first language, may I ask what this part actually means? We had later events that appeared to shift the cancer markers' degree of response amongst CEA, CA199 and AFP, perhaps indiv...

Re: It has come back...in the LNs...

Hi there. Sorry to hear your news but wanted to reach out. I am one of those that had high SUV uptake in para aortic nodes and had them removed. I have been NED since last May but also on chemo for life. It is doable! Hey brearmstrong, Have been reading your posts too! Sometimes I feel bad not cont...

Re: It has come back...in the LNs...

Re: It has come back...in the LNs...

I am so very sorry to read this, Lovelife. Chemo for life isn't a very pleasant prospect, but I guess it all depends on how well you tolerate it? A colleague of mine is starting her 6th year (small bowel cancer with an inoperable met near her pelvis). She gets an infusion every month and is able to...

It has come back...in the LNs...

 I haven't been posting as much, but I have been reading and have kept everyone here in my thoughts (in case prayers are not for everyone)... Got the PET report today, after it being clear for 10 months, it came back to hit me at liver 1.1cmx 1.1cm, one suspicious paraaortic LN and one suspicio...

Re: Stage 4 Hope

Give your mum a big hug for me!! I don't know how old was she when she was diagnosed and the details of her journey but everytime I read your signature I find hope! Everytime I get told when people met to somewhere else outside of liver, prognosis dims a lot ... i would get so frustrated.... Then I ...

Re: lung nodules

I can only tell you about the experiences of my family, and those may not be relevant to your situation. My father and I both have lung nodules: his are from environmentally-induced lung cancer, mine are from colon cancer. I realize that lung cancer is a different disease but there may still be som...

Re: Finally....some really great news!!!

I just heard from the oncologist's assistant who informed me that an order had been put in for an MRI AND Chest CT. This is news to me. When I spoke with the scheduler to schedule the November MRI, I had no idea. Only an MRI has been scheduled. This is soooo frustrating! My one lung nodule of 8mm l...
