Re: My mum needs prayers

Thank you for all your prayers and blessings. Unfortunately our family’s journey for cancer continues. My dad, aged 63, was diagnosed stage 4 pancreatic cancer four days after my mum’s death. Haven’t expecting to lost both parents within one year but his condition is worse than my mum’s first diagno...

Re: My mum needs prayers

Thank you all for your blessing. My mum is now receiving palliative care with 7L O2 and 24-hour morphine injection. I couldn’t accept the change yet as she was able to manage self-care and even housework early this month, and now she couldn’t even manage self-toileting but keep resting on bed. Their...

My mum needs prayers

She has been fighting so hard for the disease but the lung met is very progressive. She is now admitted to hospital with 4L oxygen therapy due to her shortness of breath. The doct...

Re: Anyone heard about TAS102?

Thank you so much for the replies. I do found some more information with the name Lonsurf. Anyone with first-hand experience here for the drug? My mum had tried Xeloda / 5-fu before but this drug alone seems not so promising... makes me wonder how useful Lonsurf could be.

Anyone heard about TAS102?

After receiving the treatments (please take a look at my signature), pet scan showed my mum’s rectum might have another tumour again. She had thus received radiotherapy for 25 times in December and now taking rest. The doctor now suggested my mum to start TAS102 now but we had never heard about this...

Clinical trial NIS793 & PDR001

Hello all. My mum is now a candidate of the clinical trial for NIS793 & PDR001, which we know they are drugs for immunotherapy. We have difficulty choosing between the trial and the current treatment plan (plz see my signature below). Mum’s CEA was 200 last month, but now dropped to 164 with the...

Re: Stage IV patient with increasing CEA: wait-and-see?

Thanks for asking. I guess the drug trials may involve immunotherapy coz the Onco told us it is related to PD-1. As for Keytruda, it is a drug that could only be founded in private oncology clinics so that would be one of our last resorts.

Stage IV patient with increasing CEA: wait-and-see?

Hello. Some background of my mum. My mum is a stage IV patient who had tried both Folfox and Folfiri with Avastin for chemo. She showed good response to the former while poor response to the later that her CEA is now increasing from 9 to 100. CT scan was done two weeks before and showed more nodules...

Re: Did you travel during treatment?

Welcome to HK!
I think this is a good choice. My family traveled to Japan last year during my mum’s treatment, Folfox with Avastin. And with lots of good memories!
Enjoy your trip!

Re: CEA increase on FOLFIRI

My mum has similar situation that her CEA increased steadily throughout the first two treatments of folfiri. We are not so optimistic because last time her CEA increase proved to be mets to lungs. Really worried. Stage 4 with increasing CEA despite of chemo

I have shared my mum’s situation before but there are some inputs today. We have met the oncologist as she finished her first round of folfiri on 20 Aug. We were supposed to hear some good news such as lowered CEA, but the marker turned out higher then the one before chemo. Now it is 22, which broke...

Re: Increased CEA

A number of people have used glutamine for iri- diarrhea. IV vitamin C with K2 or K3 has been used to improve quality of life for some, when they were ready to quit, worn out on Folfiri . Thank you so much for your suggestions. Mum has been receiving her first round of folfiri today, which takes th...
