Re: CEA Numbers creeping up

Mine was on a nice downward trend. Not near enough to make me totally celebrate but going down. If you look at my signature, it bumped up a bit but has gone down this last test. I don't know why mine went up but there are other reasons for CEA numbers to go up. I have heard that cancer cells dying c...

Re: Wives of husbands with Stage IV Colon Freaking Cancer

I am so glad that it is better news than what you were anticipating. Funny how we automatically assume the worst but SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Freaking relieved when it is not as bad as what our minds make it out to be.

Cancer is such a bitch!

Praying that it is not a return of cancer and that it is benign. Seriously, praying for the best.

Re: any peeps with BRAF mutation on here?

Robino checking in on you this morning to see how you are doing. Hope you have a good day! Still doing great. Chemo tomorrow then the pump for 48 hours. No CEA test. That's done every other session. I almost wish it was done every time but I understand that would be costly. I'm just glad that all o...

Re: Chemotherapy Journey

I didn't know Avastin can cause blood clots  I've had 12 treatments and still having more with it. Another thing to watch out for.

The fact that the tumor was dead is what gives me hope. She is still inspiring, even now.

IF I need something other than what is working as of now, I will certainly be looking at any and all options. :)

Re: Tribute to my dear friend Anne - aka BeansMama

I've been thinking of you since I heard the news. I'm so incredibly sorry for the loss of your dear friend. Even though we don't meet people face to face, we do have intensely personal connections with special people that we 'meet' online.

A beautiful tribute to a phenomenal person.

Re: Signet ring stage , Adenocarcinoma

My understanding, chemo is a way to get to surgery, Sloan Kettering Memorial has put many people who were told surgery was off the table, to NEDville. Have you looked at 2nd opinions? Lee HIPEC would be my only option. I'm not sold on it. I have gotten a second opinion from a #7 rated colon cancer ...

Re: Maintenance Chemo questions

I did 8 3-weekly sessions of Xelox+Avastin, starting May 2016, ending in October. The end of cycle PET/CAT scan (done in the same month) showed NED. Since then I am on a "maintenance treatment" of Capecitabine (Xeloda = 5FU) 2 weeks on/ 1 week off schedule with an Avastin infusion every 3...

Re: Chemotherapy Journey

It did end up going away after a few months. I think the nose just needs to learn a "new normal"

Try not to pick at it.

Re: Signet ring stage , Adenocarcinoma

I'm stage IV and it is inoperable at this point. I'm really hoping that chemo can get rid of all the cancer.

I hope someone does come along that can give more insight.

Sorry that you had to find us.
