Re: Fever and Chills

Thanks Lee! He seems fine today but I already told him I was definitely taking him to the ER tonight if he has another fever. Could it have anything to do with the port they just installed last Thursday?

Fever and Chills

Hey everyone!! I just wanted to see if any of you have been through this. My husband hasn't even started chemo yet (he starts tomorrow) and he has been getting sudden, unexplained fevers. Yesterday he said he started feeling hot and sweating and chills and he checked his temp and it was 104. He took...

Pain Management

I feel so bad for my husband. He is in so much pain that he can barely sleep through the night. He said his back and side are killing him. He has been taking ibuprofen and Tylenol but that doesn't seem to do much. I encouraged him to ask his doctor to give him something for the pain. He doesn't like...

Recipes for colon cancer patients

Does anyone have any good recipes that I can make for my husband? He hasn't started chemo yet and he still has a pretty good appetite. He has to be careful though because he has an almost completely obstructed bowel. The Doctor told him to avoid red meat, any tomato based foods, and salad. He said h...

Re: Husband recently diagnosed w Colon Cancer

Thanks everyone. His appt with the surgeon went well. I asked the doc what stage he is in and he said they are still trying to figure that out. He did say that as far as they can see so far, it doesn't look like it has spread to the liver but possibly the groin area. He said it is very treatable but...

Re: Husband recently diagnosed w Colon Cancer

Hi, thanks for the encouragement. We just found out Friday after he had a Colonoscopy done because he was noticing blood in his stool, weight loss, and sudden, unexplained fevers. She said she thinks it's stage 3 and hopefully not stage 4. I am not sure how she could tell just by looking at it. They...
