Re: Genetic Testing/Lynch Syndrome: Update

So, after a long wait, I finally got my sons' results today. It turns out that my 22 year old has Lynch. Certainly not what I wanted to hear.
If anyone has a doctor in NY who specializes in Lynch, I'd love to hear.
Thanks,
Elissa

Genetic Testing/Lynch Syndrome

Hi all, Not sure how many people here remember me. Next week will be four years since my husband passed after an eight month battle with stage 4 colon cancer. Even though I have not posted in a very long time, I continue to check in regularly. I want to stay up on any new treatments and I like to ch...

Happy New Year

I know it is a little early, but I thought it would be nice to wish all of you a happy and healthy new year. I hope that 2013 will be a better year for everyone. I am leaving tomorrow for a short new years vacation with the man that I have been seeing for the past six months. I was blessed to have a...

Re: Beyond the Magic Bullet

FYI....John and I had an appointment to see Dr. Chang when he ended up in the hospital and subsequently passed away. I always wonder if anything would have turned out differently had we met with him earlier. Dr. Chang has a very good reputation. He saved the life of the wife of one of my friends. I ...

Re: Opinions/vent.. on getting married after spouse passes

Shana, Although I still come on the site frequently, I have not posted for a long time. I was very saddened by your mother's death. She was a very special person and I enjoyed my contact with her. When I got my blue ribbon tattoo, I actually made a "date" to come out and go with your mom w...

Re: My kevin is dying , hiccups help if you know

Lisa,
Just saw your post and had to log on. When my husband was dying, he also had the hiccups. I am pretty sure that the drug they gave him to control it was Reglan. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time. Unfortunately I have been there myself.

A year.....

Today is a year that I lost my best friend. Today is a year that life as I knew it ceased to be. It has been a long and trying road. I have worked very hard to take care of my boys and myself, and to move forward in this life without John. By February/March, I was really feeling like it was all poss...

Re: Husband NED after 82 rounds chemo

Kathleen,
So happy to hear your great news! I hope that Dick continues to feel and do well for a long, long time.
I'm sure this will make it a little easier to send your daughter off to college next year. Has she decided where she is going?
Just keep living and enjoying life.

Re: Struggling for my life here

My dear Bev, I just signed on and was so sad to see this latest update. I dont want to give you the old "I know how you feel", but I honestly do know how you feel. When everything is coming at you fast and furious, it is so hard just to keep you head above water. But you need to and you ne...

Re: HELP!!

My dear Bev, I had been very worried about you lately as you were noticably absent. Then I saw your post last week, and was very concerned. I am so, so sorry for all you are going through. Those "thoughts", well you need to just let them go, or they will become a poison eating away at you....
