Re: New on the forum

Yesterday I had pain in my belly and had to go to the hospital. Everything turned out to be normal, blood and x-ray, so it was probably a partial blockage due to adherences or too much fibers. I hope to go home today. Claudia Hi Claudia, I hope all is well and you're home resting after this latest ...

Re: any peeps with BRAF mutation on here?

Dear Mrs. Z, i haven't been on here for a few days and just saw your post. I am so very sorry that your husband passed away. You're an incredibly strong woman to offer others comfort during this time of grieving. I'm glad that he didn't suffer and that he was home with you. Sending you warm hugs, ma...

Re: 9 months NED after 5 years stage IV

I received my third consecutive clear scan this past Monday. That makes 9 months NED! This is the longest run of NED that I have had in the past 5+ years (since diagnosis). I will continue on Adapt with Avastin for three more months and scan again in May. This is really incredible news! Thanks for ...

I agree! Identical or fraternal triplets?
My daughter went to school with triplets, two were identical and the third was fraternal, all boys.

Re: New on the forum

The chemo I'm on keeps my colostomy quite active at times so it's hard to ignore but on the bright side I can sleep through the night even with all that activity going on! I never have to worry about finding a bathroom "right now" but of course it would be great to be cancer and "bag&...

Re: New on the forum

Thanks Shana! I hope you can also have surgery soon. Once I wanted to do the genetic test of 23and me but, being in Norway, I could only get information about genealogy and not health. I wonder if it is possible to do this multiple test for genetic disposition now. Claudia I don't know much about t...

Re: any peeps with BRAF mutation on here?

Hi all, I don’t know what to say, but I know you’ve all been very supportive and kind to me and Mr Ziggy. I wish I had better news to report. Today Mr Ziggy is getting stents put in his ureters due to some kidney stones and disease blockage. Hopefully they can he’s still a bit weak. He has absolute...

Re: Cause of colon cancer discovered

I never drank or drink diet soda, but I'm sure there were environmental and food factors that played into my diagnosis, combined with an unlucky random mutation. I mentioned on a previous thread that I have lived with one of my triplet sisters for the last decade, and we have essentially had a simi...

Re: New on the forum

Hi! The scan went fine but I don't know when I will get the results, it looks like I am soon having surgery for the lung and I hope this time it will be endoscopic. I guess I will be more informed after the meeting with the surgeon on Friday. I would do the DNA testing mostly for my kids, but it is...

Re: After Erbitux, what's next?

My wife was on Avastin for a very long time and the worse side effect she had from it was very slight BP elevation from it and some blood when she blew her nose in the morning. She thought the combination of Erbitux and Avastin where a piece of cake compared to the FOLFOX, and she didn't have all t...

Re: any peeps with BRAF mutation on here?

Mrs. Ziggy, I finally took the time to go back and read all of your posts from Day 1. Wow, your sharing of all the good and the bad is both heartwarming and heartbreaking at times but I'm grateful that you are able to chronicle the difficult journey. I follow NHMike's journey too, everyone on this f...

Robin I believe you will do very well it sounds like your docs are right on you and you are enjoying life. You just transported me to a warm place very descriptive. I know it’s not easy living with cancer, and worries of unknowns, but you’re right it doesn’t define us! I'm in total agreement! We ne...

Re: Cause of colon cancer discovered

IMO, diet soda most likely was the culprit. Aspartame has been linked with cancers including colon cancer. In fact, I worked in the Regulatory Compliance Department of a bio-engineering company with a woman who used to work at the FDA during the time of its approval. The science showed that it shou...

Re: Cause of colon cancer discovered

I have been a vegetarian for 40 years. I have exercised a lot most of my life. The genetic testing results just came back and no Lynch - no markers. Three years ago, I stopped drinking Diet Coke, but before I stopped drinking them, I drank two every day. Maybe that contributed? I drank wine moderat...
