Re: Xeloda or 5fu only for adjuvant chemotherapy?

Yes I was staged T2 prior to chemo/rad and again T2 after via CT and surgery so the size of the tumor shrunk but not the invasion. I asked oncologist about this and he said not uncommon but I do wonder if maybe it was a T3

Low rectal tumor without LARS?

I've just finished chemo and radiation to shrink my tumor which was 3cm from av. Everything I'm reading seems if you have a low tumor, radiation and LAR surgery you should resign yourself to the fact that you'll be spending most days in the bathroom after reversal. I would expect this for the first ...

After radiation side effects?

My xeloda dose is low (1000mg 2x day) so I'm tolerating that we'll, the radiation has been hit or miss, I'm doing IMRT and just started the cone down and my bowels are worse then ever, also a lo...

Re: Radiation induced menopause

Wow I'm starting radiation next week and didn't even think to ask about these issues. What should I be asking my oncologist or doing proactive to avoid female issues? Thanks

Xeloda/IMRT Radiation Side Effetcs? Rectal Cancer

I'm 42 and was dx with rectal cancer 6 weeks ago, it's a low tumor Stage 1 T2. I had three options from surgeons and decided we would go with the chemo/radiation route to avoid a possible reoccurrence and perm bag. I'm starting next week, I'll be taking XELODA oral pills (500mg) and the radiation wi...
