Re: STAGE IV RC GUYS AND GALS

I find this discussion interesting. I haven't been on this site for awhile now. My dw had vats surgery 18 months ago and yes it was painful for her. 3 nights in the ICU. She's still very tender in the area.

Re: ctDNA test pros and cons?

Where this is still experimental I wasn't going to put much stock into it with my wife. She is a stage four and had a re-occurrence about 16 months ago. It was removed other than where the tumor was against an artery and they scraped what they could off, she did additional radiation and 6 months of ...

Re: COVID Vaccine and CEA Increase?

My wife's CEA has been trending up from about the first if the year granted from 1.2 to about 1.8. The last six weeks its been at 1.8. She got Covid around christmas and 90days later received the vaccine. Maybe that is the reason. She had a PET 5 months ago and it was good and a CT 2 months ago and ...

Re: Update on my situation and advice (Maintenance Chemo)

This is a thread that I have really needed. My DW is looking at Maintenance chemo. She is preferring the Xeloda two weeks on one week off option. The Onc would like her to have a 5Fu drip every other week. She was Ned until a year ago when her CEA started to go up. IT came back on her ureter. They c...

Re: very rough day post Folfiri + Avastin

Thank you Tater! I was thinking that too . . . maybe his body was just reacting to drugs he hasn't had before, or maybe his body had been through so much at this point that it was just too much (?) Well, the good news is he woke up this morning feeling a bit better . . . he wasn't even really talki...

Re: very rough day post Folfiri + Avastin

My wife's first round of FOLFIRI and Avistan in December was brutal. She was ready to give up and she didn't eat for close to a week. I got worried as you can understand but she slowly recovered in time to do it all over. She is no 10 of 12 rounds done and they have been a lot better. I don;t know i...

Maintenance Chemo Questions

Hey I am on this forum for my wife. I have been here for a couple of years, though I haven't checked in like I used to. The last time I posted a thread was to talk about strickening that came up on the ureter on my wife's right side. To bring you up to speed last Halloween my wife had a surgery wher...

Re: Folfiri and Nausea

Hi Tater, when I was on FOLFIRI I had a time with nausea. Please check with your oncologist first but Nauzene and Emetrol helped me more than any prescription meds did. They are both over the counter. You can buy them on Amazon or Walmart. My Walmart was out of stock regularly though. Hope you are ...

Folfiri and Nausea

Hey I need some help with my wife. My wife did FOLFOX about two years ago and had zero issues. She did her first round of FOLFIRI yesterday and it is kicking her butt. She is so nauseated and feeling sick, I have never seen her like this. Its weird because the Onc. said that the side effects should ...
