Re: TIL Immunotherapy at NCI

On the Clinical Trials website it seems to indicate you only need to have failed one first line treatment but I have seen in other places that you need to have failed on at least 2 treatments first, do you know what the actual criteria is? Also thanks for taking the time to respond going through th...

Re: TIL Immunotherapy at NCI

After your wife's experience do you feel that the NIH teams expertise is worth the additional time and travel involved? Three years ago, when we worked so hard to get into this trial, I would have said that it was our only option... either this trial succeeds or we have no hope. Now, I think there ...

Re: TIL Immunotherapy at NCI

Hi Everyone, I have been very interested in this trial since I first heard of it and am looking into applying if my first line treatment fails, but I had a quick questions. I have been reading through the thread and there is a mention of MD Anderson as a possible site for a similar study. I am curr...

Re: CEA during chemo

Doc tells me cea is just another tool he uses to see how things are going. But he reminds me it's not the most important. My cea has had a drastic drop at first and has now kind of stalled. I started at 53 at diagnosis then at first treatment it jumped to 103. Then 44, 9.6, 7.6 and the last one wen...

Re: CEA during chemo

Overall I think that there's so much variance with individual results that it's hard to predict "normal" response in CEA for those with single or double digit counts. I'm more of an anomaly because my CEA is greater than 1650 in July and August, oncologist says it's too high to use as an ...

Re: CEA during chemo

Mine started at 217 and went up to 219 before chemo started. First check after the start of chemo it is only down to 202. My first PET scan after chemo start is this morning. I'm crossing my fingers that there will be signs of shrinkage or something good. At least the CEA numbers are moving in the ...

Re: CEA during chemo

Mine went from 240 to 231 after one round. I'm not sure what I was expecting but I guess I was hoping for a bigger change so I would know the chemo was working. Hopefully next blood test wills show a greater improvement, I just want a sign the chemo is effective.

CEA during chemo

I just got blood test results after the first round of chemo. There was a very small decrease in CEA but nothing significant. I'm not sure what I was expecting to see but I guess Inwas hoping for a bigger drop. How long has it taken after begining chemo for others to see decreases in CEA?

Re: 2nd Chemo treatment

Im a little farther along than you are in treatments so I only see the oncologist once a month every other treatment. But the days I see the oncologist is a long day. Blood drawn, waiting on blood results, waiting on the doctor, seeing the doctor, scheduling my next two treatment appointments and t...

Re: 2nd Chemo treatment

I'm at MD Anderson they just seem to have so much going on infusion wait times are out of control. My onc team is responsive as in the nurse and PA but I've had little face to face time with my doctor. It is just frustrating especially when there are no apologies. I recognize between scans a lot of ...

2nd Chemo treatment

I have now been waiting for an infusion scheduled to begin at 130 that's hasn't begun yet as of 330. That is after attending an appointment where I thought I would see my oncologist and instead only got the PA. Is this par for the course at major cancer centers? It feels like no one takes patients i...
