BP 180/110 - xeloda/radiation

Hey everyone . . . so, my husband was sent home from work today with high blood pressure (180/110) . . . did anyone else experience this as a side effect of xeloda (or maybe the stress of radiation; although my husband is outwardly very calm and optimistic about everything ) . . . His PC doc didn't ...

Re: Possible lymph node metastasis

Hi boys0406, My husband is scheduled to have surgery in August to remove 1 cancerous lymph node in his abdomen (and possibly a second that is suspect, but has not been biopsied), as well as more of his colon (as a biopsy during scope came back positive) . . . I have so much anxiety about this surger...

Re: working/traveling during radiation (?)

Ok, I think my husband is going to try to have the radiation treatments in the afternoon so he doesn't miss school....hopefully he will be able to rest and chill all evening....did the docs give your husband anything for the nausea?

working/traveling during radiation (?)

Hi everyone . . . my husband will begin 6 weeks of radiation treatments (to his colon) soon . . . he is hoping to continue working (as a school teacher) and he is also hoping to travel (via car) for a college reunion. This is new territory for us, so we're hoping someone can give some input . . . I ...

Re: MRI yesterday, scope tomorrow

Thank you for the hugs!!! My husband's surgeon and onc are on the same page in terms of surgery, but apparently the tumor board is a bit more skittish about it...my husband's onc has asked us to consult with his doc at MSK to get another set of eyes on all of this...he will also be calling her...not...

Re: Update on supplements with some history

I took curcumin (LEF's Bio-Curcumin, which contains BCM-95) while I was receiving chemo in my HAI pump. However, I saw an integrative medicine doc at MSK who coordinated with my oncology team. I figured oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, etc. all have their own specialties (and limited view of pa...

Re: MRI yesterday, scope tomorrow

My husband met with his oncologist today . . . apparently the biopsy of my husband's fistula area (done during scope) came back as cancerous . . . not at all what we were expecting . . . they want him to start xeloda for 6 weeks, and then break for 6 weeks, and then surgery . . . they will remove th...
