Re: SBRT

Hi, I had SBRT to my left lung around the same time you did and wondering how you are doing. I'm about six months out and just went for my second follow up CT scan and of course very nervous. What's your experience been like? For me, mostly fatigue, winded a bit easier, a tiny bit of soreness in the...

SBRT Side Effects?

Hi All, I completed my last SBRT treatment for a smallish lung met in the upper left lobe. I'm wondering what side effects others have experienced and how long they got worse before they got better. Right now I'm exhausted most of the time and have some raspy breathing (nothing too bad). But if I go...

Yeah Claudine, I'm with you. Burn it to cinders.

Oncologists should talk like this more, "We're going to kick the s**t out of that thing."

Anyone Done SBRT to the Lung?

Hi All, It's been a while, but my cancer seems to be fairly persistent. I have a small (about 1cm) tumor in my upper left lung lobe along the incision scar from a previous resection. My radiation oncologist said that when lung resections recur it is often along the incision scar. I am going to do SB...

Howdy Mike, been a while.

I was wondering if you've tried Senna? That's what I use and it works for constipation and helps me have relatively predictable bowel movements.

I'm also wondering about the slippery elm. Anybody have success with that for constipation?

Repeated Bowel Blockages After Surgery

Hello All, I have a friend who had surgery for a low rectal tumor where they were able to save the rectal stump and perform a surgery to reattach things. He had a tough time with recovery from the first surgery and some issues with the second, but over the past year to 1.5 years he has had five bowe...

Re: All Lung Nodule Experiences

Hi, I had a lung nodule in the up0per left lobe removed 1.5 years ago and then before Christmas they found a 4mm nodule that in the last scan was 2mm (really small) in the same lobe. So I am doing the follow up 3/20. I would like to hope that it turns out to be nothing, but not really sure that's re...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

We have the same forecast out here in the Seacoast. I hate this middling weather. I liked the cold and when it's warm, but 30 to 40 degrees gets in my bones. Do you have United Healthcare through Medicare? I think that's what I have for prescription coverage too. One person to touch base with is the...

I wonder if your oncologist's office or the hospital s/he is in or connected to would be able to get the drug more cheaply and reliably for you?

PS

With the disposable bags, you can pour the product into the toilet and wrap the bag in a plastic bag and toss in the trash. Way better than drianable pouches.

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

What has helped the most is the Cavilon Spray. There are also barrier wipes by Smith & Nephew that work very well for protecting the skin and adhesion. They have some alcohol in them, too, and that helps with any skin issues (a bit stingy, but works). I also use a Convatec convex wafer with dis...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

That's a good sign that you return to 100 percent relatively soon after an infusion, or during a break. My neuropathy took a long time to dissipate--I still have some in my feet--so hopefully when you get to the end of the marathon you can recover quickly. Also, exercises that get blood flowing are ...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

Hi Mike, Glad that you are keeping moving. It helps with the neuropathy and just feeling better. As to the wafer and back adhering, I make sure the bag is empty (important as even a little bit of product can cause pulling and irritation from the wafer) and I tuck it into my shorts to keep it from bo...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

I've always thought that if there was one thing I would want people to know it's that cancer and the treatments affect everyone uniquely. There isn't a single cancer experience, though many shared experiences.
