Post Chemo and Radiation 4 months

I am 4 months of being done with chemo. I am feeling great, but notice I am a lot more sore since going through all this. I thought a lot of it had to do with my muscle loss and not doing ANYTHING to now being active. However I am wondering if any of you have/had this. My fingers are somewhat sore o...

Using a vaginal dilator after radiation

I finished radiation in Feb.. In March I was given two sizes of vaginal dilators to use. I have to be honest and say I used them 2x a week. But then when I started back with chemo, it was somewhat tricky for me to be on a schedule with the dilator use. Long story short. After chemo and my ileosotmy ...

Re: Start tomorrow. So scared.

You made it through the first one, good job! I remember having that issue with teh pain in my jawline. It lasted just a second each time, but annoying YES! Sounds like you are moving ahead. Take care and keep in touch. I tried private messaging you with my email address, but for some reason it is st...

Re: Start tomorrow. So scared.

Hi there! I am a 47yr. old female and just finished my journey with basically the same schedule as you are entering into. I know it is scary, I was nervous as well. I think it is important to stay as positive as you can. I truly believe that will get you through. I had 5 rounds of Folfox every other...

Re: Recovery time from and experience with ileostomy reversal?

I just had my reversal 6 days ago. I am very fortunate so far with recovery. I had surgery Thursday, went home Friday afternoon. Of course I have a small open wound and with that it has been as expected really as far as pain. I am a little swollen above my incision and it occasionally gives me pain ...

Gastrogaffin Enema procedure

Hello! Yesterday I went in for a Gastrogaffin enema procedure. It went just fine with no issues, phew! My question though. I used the restroom right after of course to release the gastrogaffin. How long does this feeling of needing to release last. It is the next morning and I am still having discha...

Re: New here My son has colon cancer

Hi there! I am 47 and was diagnosed last Mar. I went in for a colonoscoy due to finding blood in my stool. I basically have done the same treatment as your son, and just finished Wed. The only difference is I also had radiation. Having a support system is crucial. My husband was and still is a rock ...

Re: Fatigue/Nausea after finishing up with radiation and Xeloda

Oh boy... I hope so. I occasionally have bouts with nausea, but nothing crazy. Im just a trying to understand all this. Takes EVERYTHING I have to do anything, even the basics. I am wondering if my WBC is extremely low and maybe need a shot of Neulasta. I would have these when I did my actual chemo ...

Fatigue/Nausea after finishing up with radiation and Xeloda

Finished radiation and oral chemo pill Tuesday. I had to go in earlier on Monday for IV fluids due to a heart rate of 140. Knew it was because my body was in overdrive with a lot of fatigue and dehydration. Now it is Thursday and I feel blah once again with no energy whatsoever. I could barely get r...

Fatique etc

I am almost done with my 5 weeks of Xeloda pill and radiation. I have two more sessions. I feel like i have done well so far, but right now I just cant seem to eat and when I do I feel nauseous. I know eating is crucial. I have lost about 20 + pounds since Aug. I have done better today, but anytime ...
