Re: Biopsy vs PET

Tawni's Mum...I'm in exactly the same position as you. This Friday 14th Dec I'm having a liver biopsy. I have 6 little tumors on the liver and no one can tell me if they are mets/secondary tumors. They didn't show on the Pet scan. But have had 2 liver MRI's recently and each radiologist feels they a...

Re: Benign tumors on liver ??

Little Update: My Oncologist's Radiologist ordered a Liver MRI, which I had done 2 days ago. 6 little tumors on the liver, in his opinion in awkward places to be biopsied. He said they are NOT benign and it is imperative that I see my Onc. Had an appt with him tonight but his secretary phoned to say...

Re: Benign tumors on liver ??

Hi Victoria, I saw the Onc last week and he thinks they "might" be Angiomas.....not sure if that's English or French lol and probably spelt it wrong. But as he said, he's not a Radiologist, so he's taken the CAT scan results and there is a meeting tonight with all the oncologists and they ...

Kathryn, I've got my appt with Onc on 20th June(couldn't speak tp him, he wasn't there) But, yesterday I saw our family doctor and she feels certain they are benign. Re: Benign tumors on liver ??

Thanks everyone for your advice. They are definately not cysts. Minolfa, even in the beginning the markers were not an indicator for me..CEA was at 0.7 Had a blood test last month, it's now 1.3 CA 19-9 has been going slowly upwards for past 2 years that's why I'm just a "tiny" bit worried....

Thanks Victoria, it's true what you say....but....there's just that little question mark lurking. I'll make an appointment with Onc tomorrow just to have his opinion.

Benign tumors on liver ??

I had my 5 yr CAT scan on Friday and apparently there are 3 little tumors on the liver between 9 and 12mm. The radiologist said " they are PROBABLY benign". I am not panicking or really worried but untill my oncologist says there's nothing to worry about, I won't really relax. So, am I bei...

Re: First me...now Mum

Thanks Barbara, I actually just spoke to her a few minutes ago and she was really on form, I was surprised. We discussed things and I told her what to expect etc and she was really positive, said nothing's going to stop her from vacuuming her own house etc. We laughed about things and it was good. S...

Re: First me...now Mum

Thankyou to everyone for all your kind words and prayers, that means a lot to me. My Mum has never been ill in her life, I've never once heard her complain of an ache or pain, her house is immaculate, she walks for 2hrs every day and is always on the go. This will be very hard for her as she's a ver...

Re: questions about hernia surgery

Polarprincess, apparently the mesh is different now to what it used to be, it,s very silky and soft(he showed it to me). John, my major surgery was April 3rd 2007 (silver wedding anniversary lol) and if my memory isn,t playing tricks, the hernia surgery was May or June 2008(unless I actually write t...

Re: questions about hernia surgery

Polar princess I can,t answer all of your questions. I too developed an umbilical hernia after my surgery. The reason being my skin doesn,t heal very well and the surgery was very large, opened from braline to bikini line. It was repaired by the same surgeon that did my cancer surgery, thought it be...
