Re: Precautions at MD Anderson?

MD Anderson has two areas that they do scans, and the area I am scheduled for is it’s own building. Once you walk in the doors, you are in the waiting room. Unfortunately there is no place to hide.

Precautions at MD Anderson?

Has anyone been to MD Anderson lately? I’m curious what precautions they are taking. Their website mentions no visitors and screenings at the entry points, but It didn’t mention anything about the waiting rooms. I have a scan coming up in a few days and I’m not exactly looking forward to sitting in ...

Re: Stage 4 for 4 years, looking for advice

My situation is similar to yours. I was diagnosed at 36 and had half my colon removed and 11 rounds of folfox. A few years later they found a liver met. I had already prepared myself mentally to be ready for the chemo, but my oncologist at MDA said I didn’t need it and surgery would be fine. At a fo...

Re: More chemo after a solitary lung met?

I could be wrong but if you have already done folfox, they would likely give you a different chemo regime.

Re: Lung Cryoablation

Tdubz, since you don't have a signature : are you/will you be on any type of adjuvant "mop-up" chemo following your single recurrence removals? If so, what kind? Thanks, I hope this one is the last one for you! Hi claudine, after my colon resection I did 11 rounds of folfox. The oncologis...

Re: Lung Cryoablation

Yep, did a small resection on the liver and that went great. Probably one of the easiest surgeries I’ve had. Then on the follow up for that surgery they found a spot in my lungs had grown to 4mm. Still too tiny to do anything about so we waited 3 months and scanned again. This time it had grown to 7...

Re: recovery from colonoscopy?

I can only speak for myself, but I have now had 3 colonoscopies and I’m pretty much back to normal the same day of the procedure, but my prep was much more simple than yours, just a few ducolax tablets and some miralax mixed with Gatorade. I’d be concerned if I was still experiencing issues a week l...

Re: CEA

I was told to get a colonoscopy every year for 5 years. His oncologist or gastroenterologist should be able to tell him the frequency he needs to get them at.

Re: Stage IV, what happens after surgery?

my surgeon initially thought I wouldn’t need chemo either, but that I’d need to talk to a medical onc just to make sure. The onc I was assigned to is the lead for this immunotherapy clinical trial. It seems like the trial is the route they are wanting me to go. I’m not opposed to the trial at all, ...

Re: Stage IV, what happens after surgery?

I still have neuropathy 2 years later and obviously the chemo didn’t work the first go around. I’m guessing maybe those things could have played a factor? My local onc wants a follow up so I will discuss it with him and then again with MDA when I head back there.

Re: Stage IV, what happens after surgery?

DH had chemo before and after his liver resection. 6 months of adjuvent after the liver resection. He then had more chemo when he had a recurrence. He had radiation done, and then more chemo. And now he had a lung met removed. Chemo before and after that surgery too. Honestly, if I were you I would...
