Re: Ileostomy in overweight patients?

Usually the ostomy nurse would check for the perfect placement for the ostomy before surgery. I'm 5'2" and 160lbs and my belly is flabby so I had those concerns too. My ostomy nurse found a perfect spot for me. Unfortunately after surgery I gained a dip to the right of my stoma so I'm still str...

Re: Recent LAR & Loop Iliostomy

I agree with Lee. Keep supplies with you at all times. I've only had mine for 3 weeks but I've had leaks already (due to the swelling after surgery and things still shifting). Re: Another Newbie

Hi chuck! I just wanted to say good luck on your journey. I'm also a newly diagnosed newbie. I had to get a bag installed as well for the obstruction. It definitely is something to get used to but it's not so bad right now. It got rid of my stomach pains so that's a plus. I'll be reading your update...

Newly diagnosed mom

Hello everyone! I'm new here but have been a lurker for over a month. I'm a wife to a wonderful husband and a mother to a crazy 3 year old. Last month at 32 years of age I was diagnosed with stage IV Colon cancer (SRCC). It has been a whirlwind since then and very much overwhelming. I was angry, con...
