Re: Low HCT & HBC

Re: Reversal Thread

Thank you for starting this thread. It should provide a somewhat unique perspective, since you are a Rectal Cancer patient but without the usual neoadjuvant radiation and without the usual long 6 to 8 month span with a temporary ileostomy. Your ileostomy experience was only about 2 months long, so t...

Re: Stress management -- On-line resources from NCCN

So depressed tonight. The waiting for surgery is horrific... Distress is a normal reaction at this point in time. If you like to read, there are some on-line resources that might help. Here is the NCCN Distress Thermometer https://www.nccn.org/patients/resources/life_with_cancer/pdf/nccn_distress_t...

Re: Just told I have a mass in rectum

...They said the tumor can be removed without the dissection. Can you find out the name of the surgical procedure that they are proposing? If it is not a resection, then what is it? There are several different procedures available and it would be important to know which one they have in mind. Is it...

It's good that your doctors know about all of your medications, since the doctors would then be able to check if there are any interactions between your medications that might cause liver problems or an elevated CEA.

Where did all the 'guests' go?

Usually when I log in and look at WHO IS ONLINE, I see from 50 to 100 users accessing the Forum. However, the other day I had a big surprise. When I came here to the Forum, all I found was this: https://s26.postimg.org/41laob16h/image01.jpg What does this mean? Where did all the 'guests' go? And wha...

Re: Rant - colon vs rectal cancer

So I just got my reminder from my gastroenterology clinic telling it's time for my colonoscopy because of my COLON cancer. I didn't have colon cancer, I had RECTAL cancer. I'm tired of being lumped in as having had colon cancer when I don't have a rectum which is evidence of having had RECTAL cance...

She's going to do mine late October. I finished my Chemo and Radiation last week and will have an MRI in early October and a meeting a few days later. I have a suggestion about your signature. Could you amend your signature so that it shows your current status as well as your next planned up-coming...

Re: Question about bleeding (Avastin)

I was never on Avastin, but I would say that it is a!ways important to keep the doctor advised of any treatment-related adverse event, whatever it might be. This is because a Grade 2 adverse event could quickly escalate to a Grade 3 or Grade 4 level where it may be difficult or impossible to treat i...
