Re: Keytruda induced pancolitis (help me please!)

Veckon, My 19 year old son has ulcerative colitis and so the last two years we were working on foods that helped when he had a flare. If you google, "diets for Chron's or UC" you will get great information and recipes. Kefir is awesome because it's full of probiotics and also soothing to y...

Question on pains few weeks after end of Folfox

I realize that i just kinda barged in on this forum several months ago without introducing myself. How rude  BUTT, I read everyone's responses several times a day as I go blindly through this fight; you all make it so much easier and education is the key! So I know AJQ posted similar question...

Re: O/T...Sort Of...Things Come In 4's - Appendiceal (Appendix) Cancer - Not Me

So sorry to hear of your BFF's diagnoses... heavy heart here... I too have appendix cancer (mucinous adenocarcinoma) and the tumor started in my appendix and invaded into the colon wall. You can see the rest in my signature. Because mucin or peritoneal mets weren't yet found during surgery or after ...

Re: Right side pain --mets?

:( AJ, I also have lots of right side pain and pain here and there throughout my abdomen. No connection to types of food or anything that I can figure out. It too has me scared of spread given my T4 tumor. I have my next CT scan on the 16th. My oncologist also thinks it is from my surgery but that w...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

teacher2017 Please don't be afraid of the port. It is really very easy and while sounds horrifying, it's so doable! Believe me, you are way way stronger than you think you are. It's painless going in and just a little sore for a couple of days. When they access it, I put on numbing cream an hour bef...

Re: Any experience with cannabis oil?

I live in a state where it is legal and I have a medical prescription for it from my oncologist. I can't say enough about how much it has helped me. The anti nausea pills have never worked for me and just made me constipated. The key is to get a CBD oil that also has THC. It helps with my appetite, ...

Re: Colon cancer scared!

I also had three CT scans before surgery that did not pick up the tumor that grew through the colon walk from the base of my appendix. It was over 2cm but only the colonoscopy found it.

Re: Hot flushes

I am currently in session #11 of folfox. It has pushed me into menopause the last three months (45 years old) but I get terrible hot flashes. The steroids also can cause this which might be what is happening with you. My face and neck turn beet red during pump days.

Re: New, anxious and seeking opinions

So happy for although my son has ulcerative colitis at 17 and it has not been a walk in the park and he now has scarring started on his bile ducts a year later. His heptalogist says liver transplant in 7-10 years. Get a good GI to help you through this noncancerous but not fun journey. Glad you got ...

Re: FamiIy and friends on a bad week

You are never whining and you'd be surprised to know that I doubt anyone would consider that to be the case. I usually just answer their texts or emails with the words,"feeling terrible but will bounce back in a few days". Seems to work for me. You will get through this! I am recovering fr...

Re: Starting Treatment soon-have some ?

I also get my treatments starting on Tuesday with pump off on Thursdays. The first few treatments I was able to work Wednesdays and Thursdays and then felt horrible on Fridays and Saturdays. Now that the treatments are racking up (I have 9th one next Tuesday) I start feeling tired and terrible on We...

Re: When did you get your first scan after starting chemo?

I had CT scan 1/2 through chemo and will have another when I finish. After that though, not again for 6 months which has me a bit freaked out.

I am so sorry. I am relatively new here but read every post and was so impressed by the people on here who take the time almost daily to respond to posts. You guys are heroes to me. You are among them and I am so so sad to read this. His bike riding inspired me and I just am speechless. I didn't kno...

Re: I heart FOLFOX

Hi Basil, can I ask how they ruled out the spot on your lung as harmless? I ask because I am 1/2 through my 12 rounds of folfox and the CT scan I just had shows a 4mm lung nodule in my upper quadrant. I have never had a full chest scan until now so not sure how long it has been there. My oncologist ...
